My gawd, how the hell can that pass tests and be sold!? Makes no sense to me at all... Did they not bother testing the German version at all on normal computers?? I would be surprised for other bugs!!! After YEARS of waiting, each bug found in the game, each absurd behaviour, every polygon that is out of bound really has been for me a shot to the heart!!! the point it is not new pc worth 2000$ or DX10 the point for me is, what do I gain spending so much money and time? is it justified a pc like NASA's ones for what arma gives graphically? well I am not sure, I repeat ARMA looks great, yes it looks great STILL, without moving ,as an amazing picture.. but this is not enough compare to all the loss it has in FPS I can't understand what happened.. the gras has been implemented in many other recent games and no one had those problems My pc runs OBLIVION with no problems at hi-res with fulls vegetation moving... why is ARMA suffering so much... I hope with new users someone will find hot to fix this problem |

Just a note for all the german users: The german version has a bug made by the publisher which ruins the FPS, if you get 20FPS with everything on low you are lucky, they are currently working on a hotfix. As long as I didn't test it myself I don't believe anything. Some people are just to stupid to set details correctly and get low FPS then. In armed-assault.de forums 50% say the game runs perfect, 50% say it's crap, so nothing to believe yet. I'll return at 1800 today, so I may test it later this evening and get some detailed review for you. -------------------- Former "Uber"-Administrator.

But you can be blamed for saying the game is crap and everything is crap when the problem is you.

That's the fact.
I just for few minutes at home, checked my mail: and there it is: in an old rusty 7.62mm ammo box. I'll have to work another 2 or 3 hours, after that I'll install and report in! -------------------- Former "Uber"-Administrator.

Performance problems in german version
The performance problem on german version of armed assault is not a rumor and its not the problem of stupid users nor is it a problem of bis. The german distributor morphicon is writing about the bug on german armed assault homepage, if you can read german, you can see the report here: http://www.forum.german-gamers-club.eu/showthread.php?t=1404 I also wrote an email to morphicon, they said they are still working on the problem, so i hope a patch will be out soon... |

They said they are already working on a hotfix, you wont have to wait for the official patch from BIS
EDIT: Oh, that was also in that link, well this is for those 2 not-german speaking users here -------------------- Homo sapiens non urinat in ventum.

Its not my case, and, sorry but I think u could be more correct, it seem u simply do not want to hear that ARMA has a lot of problems.. The Games HAS problems, some bugs like ofp, some SAME bug!!! And, in my opinion, (that should be good as any other opinion in democracy) the game does not have enough graphical improovement to justify a so low FPS it seem simply BIS did not found a good way to make everything working easily an even most performing PC has a lot to do to keep it all going on.. so LOW FPS. this was my first thought, my second one was hoping I was wrong. the 3rd was hoping someone fix it. Anyway, I support freed speach! |

Fabrik, are you blind or just lazy? The low FPS is NOT caused by the game, its because of the copy protection the german publisher added in some horrible way, they are currently working on a hotfix.
The game works fine on non-german versions and in a few days it will work fine on the german version aswell. QUOTE Anyway, I support freed speach! Reading is also free, do it. -------------------- Homo sapiens non urinat in ventum.

have u tested it? Yes i tested the Czech version, it works fine on my PC (which is slower then yours) in 1024×768 on medium details. Once the hotfix is released for the german version it will work fine on your PC aswell. -------------------- Homo sapiens non urinat in ventum.

Man I love, my version is Czech too so, can u please post you pc config and your ArmA setup so maybe I can improove my performance? I tryed every mix of settings, from LOW to VeryHigh, every option in the game and outside in hte ATI control panel.. and all alone in the map, in a city, I can't get more than 20FPS (all set low) |

Amd x2 4200+ (@2,5ghz), 1,5gb ram (+-400mhz), x1600XT (@624/752).
viewdistance 2000, shaders/terrain/texture/object details all to normal, AF to high, AA to low, shadows on low/normal but when im in a forest i turn them off (otherwise it kills my FPS) My FPS never gets below 20 and never above 30 so its quite stable, and 25FPS is more then enough for me. Note that my PC is highly optimized, i have exactly 0 useless programs running in the background, i defragmented, no spyware, etc etc -------------------- Homo sapiens non urinat in ventum.

I saw it on a A64 3500 Venice DFI LanParty Ultra-D Nforce4 2Gb Ram ddr400 Ati x800pro 256Mb overclocked Sadly for me my friend your pc is better than mine so that's why on mine ti has so much problems 25 fps would be good for me too if they where stable anyway, be honest, on your pc u have surely seen games with better graphic going faster than Arma PS. to test ArmA I did a complete format and Re-Install so the pc is perfectly optimized |

But did they have the ENORMOUS scale of ArmA? HAH! not even close My PC isnt better, ok i have a dual core but ArmA doesnt really make use of it anyway, and my ram is slow as hell, and my graphicscard may support SM3.0, that isnt used in ArmA and an x800 is alot faster. Your PC should perform way better then it currently does. I advice you to try the latest omega drivers (google them), that should help a bit. Ah, and try using the -maxmem=1024 parameter in your shortcut, but as you have 2GB ram you may try -maxmem=1536 or something -------------------- Homo sapiens non urinat in ventum.

Okay ladies, calm down a bit. I'm gonna test ArmA now and then I can tell you if it laggs or not. And FYI why are non-German people complaining about the German version? You're normally not supposed to play it and if you want to do so, don't complain about bugs.

Okay as told before: Tested it, no lag for me on high detail with 4x AA and 8x AF. Graphics all nice, sounds and effects as well BUT the control are fucked up in my opinion. I mean it's even worse than BF series, playing 5 years with the same OFP control configuration it's really hard to get that working. 1000 keys for the same function, no middle mouse button menue all the time (it's available sometimes but not everytime, and that's the feature I loved so much in OFP).
I guess it'll take me some time to configure the controls. -------------------- Former "Uber"-Administrator.
