katonkabong informed us that ArmA 2 will optionally be delivered with a device that allows controlling parts of the game with your mind !
This new device called EPOC was developed by Emitov and will allow the player to select his weapon and reload his rifle, whenever he thinks about the reload codeword (can be configured easily). Basically the Action Menu (With which you can mount a vehicle for example) will be replaced with this mind control device ! It will also allow the gamer to enter his chat messages by thinking what he would like to type ! Here's a screenshot of the device : And here is a prototype beeing used by a BIS Developer (click to enlarge) : The system will cost approximately 300 $ and can be configured with any language. It may take some time to teach the system the designated codewords, but once that is done...ArmA 2 will feel like a Sci-Fi Game ! -------------------- |

Yeah, as I said in the comment, this has GOT to be an April fool, But it would be pretty cool if somthing like that does exist. That would make playing the game MUCH more streamlined, Like Running into cover and automatically thinking, Reload, Instead of moving a finger and Pressing R. Cause I know somtimes I STILL look at the keyboard to know what button to press, I've been playing OFP and ArmA for the longest time yet I still slip up and Look at the keyboard from time to time -.-
I think the headset might also go VERY well with RPG Missions like Sahrani Life. It would make being a civilian 10 Times easier and you wouldnt get shot to hell and back by cops because You didnt put your hands up fast enough at a Random traffic Stop, heheh This post has been edited by StateOfEmergency: Apr 1 2009, 11:51 -------------------- Look out! @StateofEmergency: This does exist. It's existed for over a year now. LINK
This is hardly newsworthy. I mean, this system was showcased over a year ago by Neurosky (I was ranting on about Honda claiming to have invented NIEEG to control Asimo yesterday...) I mean, we don't get a newpost telling us ArmA2 supports mouse and keyboard! Does this mean ArmA2 doesn't support mouse and keyboard!? It's a given that it'll support this thing. -------------------- The Rules - Nothing too complicated, follow these and we'll have no problems.

I can't wait, if this thing is truly that capable it should add an extra degree of realism.

I have a question...What happens if you accidentally have something completely different in mind? Such as titties?
Wait, lemme guess: crash to desktop? -------------------- |
