Hi,
my clan has set up an FDF mod server with vesion 1.3 and 1.4 but also many other FDF addons like the Desert Pack, Suursaari and Maldevic Island and most of Kegetys' work (SW Revolvers, Russian Weapon Pack, Mtlb).

But there are problems running some missions, which usually turn out an error report such as "missing kegsuaz", although the addons are actually on the server and in the correct folders.

Do you know of some issues with these addons or do you have any other tips? And can you please list the addons and in which folders they were, when there was FDF mod running on the server?

Im asking because I know you have experience with ofp.info server and the ofp.info site seems rather depopulated blues.gif

Any help is much appreciated!

Well the error message don't say where is the problem ^^

The problem is in the .sqm file aka mission file after unpbosation, you must add the correct name in this file in order to have a working mission smile.gif

I have experienced a lot of errors when playing FDF with my friends. It was all caused by the Kegetys' revolvers. Remove those addons and it should work fine without errors - at least it did when we did it.

Excellent, thanks Rewan & Rellikki! worship.gif We'll surely try both ideas. Too bad we have about 500 missions and about half of those we have already tried, aren't working biggrin.gif

I have been running a dedicated server successfully with fdfmod and several addons.
Although the low upload bandwidth (1 Mbps) is causing problems sometimes - desync, lag... but that's a different topic.

Anyway, the Kegetys (S&W) Revolvers is not a problem at all - you just need to place it to the correct folder.
Those must be in Operation Flashpoint/Addons -folder, not in /finmod/addons.
Same goes with many other fdfmod-related addons.

Check out my website for more info of the install folders:
http://www.elisanet.fi/fdf/en_help.html#addons

This is just the way I've done it, and it actually works very well.

Of course there are frequently minor problems, mainly caused by players who are are missing addons that we use (or incorrect install folders).
And besides that, some older missions don't work with fdfmod version 1.4. This far I've found about 15 broken missions of the all ~550 which are currently on the server. Those ones doesn't load at all, and report "missing fdf_worlds".

btw. Are you running dedicated server? Windows or Linux?
I'm running it on Linux, because the OFP server's Windows version was a bit unstable and a major resource hog...

Good luck! smile.gif

Thanks for the valuable info Osku! We have so far solved most of the problems. One thing that has also seemed to help solve some of the problems, which we (I) had when we added BAS addons to the server along with FDF, was adding parameter -nomap into the init field of the OFP shortcut (or alternatively into OFP Watch parameters field).

Not sure how much upload does the server link have, but we don't tend to have problems with the connection because, there is only a few of us playing at one moment biggrin.gif

...and yes we are running a Windoze server, but we are thinking or switching to Linux smile.gif

What BAS addons do you mean? Those fdf missions I have on my server, don't require any other BAS addon, than A/MH-7 Littlebirds 1.1 (baslittlebirds1_1for185.zip).
It works with or without the -nomap -parameter, on Windows too. I have deleted the missions entries in server.cfg, which are there by default.
Maybe you have some different missions, which require other BAS addons?

You plan to try it on linux? I must say, that it is quite tricky to get work.
Of course, if you are already familiar with Linux operating systems, it should be easier.
But for me, it took countless hours of work to get it running, because I didn't have any Linux experience before.
Afterall, it was interesting, and I learned a lot during that...

Well we play FDF and BAS missions. But BAS missions we play with active FDF. There used to be some bugs (like black screen or some weird blue shapes), but -nomap fixed that. And yes, none of the FDF missions require BAS addons to run thumbsup.gif

Actually our server admin, Adre, does all the work. He says he has some knowledge of running Linux so we have to trust him sweatingbullets.gif

Btw are you running a private server or a public one? We have a private one...

My server is fully public, and running all the time. It shows in the OFP's server list as "FDFMod Server".
You are welcome there any time!
And of course any other people here reading this post.

As long as there is room for more players. wink.gif
Unfortunately, I had to set the maximum players to 7 - and that's totally the max for my current Internet connection.
I have 8 Mbps / 1 Mbps, so the download bandwidth is way more than needed (the server uses it only approximately 10 percent),
but the Upload bandwidth is sometimes a big problem. Depends on the mission too.
