hey everyone i need help getting settled in with ARMA II, and a few questions. these downloads i downloaded from here, will they be on the game when i get on?. will it be easy to get started?, and can i create my own soldiers? :helpsos:

there are two options how make addons work. First, the easiest and NOT recommended:) - put the pbo files into your Addons folder where the ArmA2 is located. Second is to create some folders for addons. I personally put them into my ArmA2 folder, it looks like x:\games\ArmA2\@blabla\addons (do not forget to create subfolder "addons" in @blabla, otherwise the launcher wonīt detect it) where folder @blabla\addons is where you put your addons. Then you can create shortcut with -mod parameter but I recommend using some launcher, for example http://arma2.paro-technology.com/
This also works for missions (use appropriate folders like @blabla\missions) etc.
Then the soldiers, tanks and so on will be in game, ready for you in editor.
It is rather easy to get started, you will see (altough it is not, usually:), some Rambo shooter so donīt get frustrated). And creating your own soldiers? Get in the game first and if you like it there are plenty of sources where to find how to start modding.
