Starting/further Mission Editor Reference(s), Items which should be looked at before asking here Options

I noted JBD's Post as well as the recent amount of questions that could have been answered by using the search function.
I know that I too have been guilty (when I first started) of doing this so I have decided to help other new posters!

While BIS wiki is decent I don't find it to be the best site when it comes to explanations or even examples OFPEC COMREF is in my opinion a better site (http://www.ofpec.com/COMREF/). Everything there is listed Alphabetically and usually comes with a description and a good example.

Furthermore I have found that the recently released guide by Mr Murray from Mapfact is an even better guide and contains very detailed explanations as well as useful stuff that you won't find on most sites. It is a translation from a German original, but I have found from a quick read through that the translation is very well done, and while certain terms seemed to have failed to translate into English these are easily understood if the entire topic is read thoroughly. [note I was trying to link the Guide here but I can't seem to find it under utilities section!]

It covers the basics to the more advanced as well as has some neat scripts such as Paratroopers, On Map Click Artillery, and other things which are commonly sought for in Missions.

I believe both these resources are very helpful and easy to use and should be the starting point for any person who is eager to make a mission!
