G'day Rommel.
I noticed a few inaccuracies with your Steyr A1 so I thuoght I would point them out as I'm sure you want to try get the model as accurate as you can to the real thing and I would like to assist fellow Aussies as much as I can. No1. The Primitive iron sights the Steyr A1 features on the optic are much to large. No.2 The front attachment for the Optic appears to be extending into the barrel. It should stop about a mm or to above it following the round shape of the barrel. No3. Easy one to fix, the Optic shouldn't extend past that front attachment point. No4. The bump you have there on the stock shouldn't be there, there is one at the stock end but not at the receiver end No5. Same Problem with the receiver it should be a sort of diamond shape and should slide snugly in to the stock. Your one appears to be sitting on the stock and seems to be the wrong shape No6. The front handle should be rounder and lower, appears to be connecting to the barrel atm Would probably shrink the sling rings down some to I hope you find this helpful Good Luck with the mod -SoldierX -------------------- |

With the foregrip, its a balance between having the hand go through it, or it slightly in the barrel. Either way, we're editing it heavily, and the finish product will look great. Also wanted to add that we're making (editing BIS model) a S-70, which is shaping up great and will begin work on the LR110 hopefully soon. -------------------- http://www.australianarmedforces.co.nr/ |

Hey another Aussie mod
It looks promising too which is always a good thing. Are you just going to do the basic infantry weapons? Have you given any thought to the increasingly more common F88A2? Good luck with it -------------------- - .B.O.H.I.C.A. - .D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F. -

Good luck with it From what I know from the director of the mod, we're sticking just with A1 for now, as we currently have no real need for the A2, but after the core pack is done, we could easily extend and add to it. -------------------- http://www.australianarmedforces.co.nr/ |

X, thankyou for your brilliant feedback, which I am sure the modding team have found most useful, although as Rommy pointed out, many of the identified faults have already been looked at and fixed or disregarded.
I might also offer some feedback for yourself, to help you better understand the weapon; QUOTE No1. The Primitive iron sights the Steyr A1 features on the optic are much to large The 'Primitive Iron sights' are actually known as the 'Battle sights', only for use under 50m in poor visibility. QUOTE No4. The bump you have there on the stock shouldn't be there, there is one at the stock end but not at the receiver end No5. Same Problem with the receiver it should be a sort of diamond shape and should slide snugly in to the stock. Your one appears to be sitting on the stock and seems to be the wrong shape The F88 AuSteyr doesn't actually have a 'stock', it has a butt, which is part of the butt-group, incorporating the trigger guard, trigger and trigger mechanism. QUOTE No6. The front handle should be rounder and lower, appears to be connecting to the barrel atm A handle is something on a coffee cup or a door, a foregrip is a foregrip. QUOTE sling rings I'm not sure what a 'sling ring' is, perhaps you are referring to the front and rear sling swivels ? QUOTE should slide snugly in to the stock. Your one appears to be sitting on the stock and seems to be the wrong shape Perhaps you could clarify this point, whilst the receiver group does slide into the butt-group, it also technically 'sits on' the butt group aswell, as it is only the return rods, bolt group and a small part of the receiver which actually 'slide into' the butt-group, the remainder does indeed 'sit on top'. Little confusing what the error here is... May I say great work on your F88A2S, it is most impressive, We too have identified a number of faults which I am certain you are eager to rectify, 1) There appears to be a number of serious model faults in the butt-group, with strange sharp lines running in odd directions. The Butt-group is a lot more smooth and contoured, its made by tupperware after all! 2) Safety catch appears warped and the wrong colour, i'm not sure why you made it a different colour to all the other plastic parts. 3) Rear sling swivel is too small 4) Textures appear a strange colour, close to reality, but not quite there, a bit dark and murky, but still very realistic. Things I love about your F88A2; Lovely textures on the Butt-plate and gas piston head and a fantastic magazine texture, very impressive! Thankyou once again for your helpful feedback and advice, I hope you find ours equally as useful! -------------------- |

I guess your coloring for the F88 needs a bit of work to. Yeah I'm not serving and it shows in my description of F88 parts lol but I thought the serious error in the receiver shape and how it fits in to the stock would have defiantly stuck out to someone who has used the weapon in training before. Just compare it to some photos of the F88 and I'm sure you will pick it up in no time. -------------------- |
