Some of you may have seen these already but IGN have screenshots showing the use of aircraft carriers
http://uk.pc.ign.com/dor/objects/958404/ar...id=3waq8etqwb61 would be cool if you could drive them. anyway i'm sure it'll be fun trying to land a harrier on the deck. lol |

As there were no ships on the "Ships and Boat" ArmA 2 page, I believe that this carrier is a static object on the map.

Hi, looking at it's appearances in the videos that we've seen until now, it's very possible that it be a static object
on the map; but that for me is a really bad decission regarding the mission makers. That will mean that you'll always have a fixed starting point for a fat enough number of missions and a bast enough area where the non BLUFOR aircraft or vessels will have issues; if the LHD have (as it should) it's own countermeasures... then the OPFOR aircraft and vessels would have that zone vetoed, and if if don't have it's own countermeasures... (as it should...) then it would be a shame by BIS. The OPFOR AI would fly arround it and will try to fire at it so they wouldn't have ammo enough to get back to land and proceed with their CAP or CAS missions, remember that each of this two have their own approaching routes and exit routes too; and if i had a coast, and airforce or navy air force... i will set various dayly patrols by the shore line every damn day to hunt the smugglers and any one that tryes to bring weapons, ammo, drugs and alcohol to my enemys on the ground. So... yeah damn it, seems that that LHD is a static object; but i really hope to be wrong, for the good of all the players... . Let's C ya -------------------- |
