Go on and write about the things that are currently annoying the crap out of you!

I shall start herewith.

This is not an Emo thread, by the way. If it were, I'd be all "I'm just so sensitive, nobody understands and likes me and so I want to become an ugly twat who needs to slash his wrists!".

Channels+1
Such as, ITV2+1.
It's the same thing, just an hour later.

Actually, it's not so much these that annoy me.

Rather, it's the lack of -1 channels.
I mean, what if I want to watch something that's in an hours time!? What if I'm going to be too busy to watch it in an hour?
Of course, this would make Live TV very, very interesting. (Unlike traveling faster than light, this would damage continuity. Take that wikipedia! aha!)

Which brings me quite well to my next point I suppose.

People who believe that travelling faster than light equates to time travel.
I mean, really.
This has got to be dumber than those theories that when you travel faster than sound the controls on your plane will magically reverse. In fact, that's even more likely. Damn you wikipedia for your misconceptions!

Also, add a proper page on Fold-Space. Not just some footnote at the bottom of an Anime article. What would Frank Herbert think!? I bet he wouldn't be happy! mad.gif

I'm not kidding. This should be outlawed. I mean, really, why do people head towards this completely obscure format to make 1280*1024 screengrabs?! It's absurd! There's no reason you couldn't use a jpg! Why use a format that doesn't add anything extra to what your doing but weighs about nine thousand times as much! Sure, they might be only slightly different, but it's gonna go up yaknow! We do, right, but now they are useless, and if they are useless, isn't that our future being won't have them?

Of course my knowledge is TV, a wikipedia Article and what my imagination brings up. I'm not an expert.

Posted by: D@V£ Mar 1 2009, 21:12

No. That's not how evolution works. I'm suggesting you take a hammer to your teeth immediately.

Not for the same reason I'm suggesting pMaster take a hammer to his teeth. But like most forms of dentistry, it also doubles up as a suitable punishment.

Evolution works in that mutations that are capable of surviving better in the environment available will survive (as opposed to the mutant with toes for lungs, which won't). At which point, said mutant will do what living things do, and the mutations will (usually) be passed onto their descendants, who will pass said mutations onto their descends et cetera, et cetera.

Evolution does not work by creatures magically following some kind of pre-planned route wherein they suddenly become better every generation or so.

This is why stuff like the appendix isn't going to go away. People without one aren't inherently better at survival than people with one. Though modern medicine and the nanny state has pretty much beaten the sh*t out of natural selection... curse them!

(Though I blame the nanny state more, medicine can't help itself...)

(...Actually, the thought of Karl Marx and Dr House beating up Darwin is pretty funny)

(Don't know why I said House... to be honest, I can't particularly think of any real famous Doctor... as long as no one thinks he's not Prince George...)

(...Dr Phil? I don't think he's really applicable...)

(I've never actually seen House... I'd probably like it... but... meh...)

Posted by: pMASTER Mar 1 2009, 21:29

"Defendant, here is your sentence: Three years and six month at the dentist's chair!"

But maybe I should use the hammer instead, where I know what I'm getting! The funny part is, I'm in fear of a jaw suppuration. And what drugs do I pop? One that can cause agranulocytosis as a side effect.

Posted by: Benoist Mar 1 2009, 21:49

So, you are saying that in some point a mutation will cause that some people will be born without an appendix, and they will be the most acclimated people for survival?
Of course an appendix is not the best survival tool, but you get what I'm saying... don't you?

What's there to be afraid of? You don't need a jawbone. I mean, what do you use it for? Hmm?

Chewing and some talking. Heck, you can do a good bit of talking without a jawbone. You could even get one of those cool voice boxes! Then get a radio-career as a Stephen Hawkings impersonator!

As for chewing, it's an excuse to eat more stuff like Pasta and Chilli. And I can't think of anyone who hasn't thought to themselves "I really need to eat more stuff like Pasta and Chilli".

So, yeah, loosing your jawbone can only help but kick-start your career! You know, like turning 40, but without the whole "old" thing!

QUOTE(Benoist @ Feb 6 2009, 04:41) *
- My teeth...
I brush then 3 times per day, almost fime minutes each time, I always carry one with toothpaste when I travel, it's the only part of my body that I REALLY take care of. I'm the only one in my family without teeth problems because of the above, however I can't get them to be white! I have a yellowish color in every tooth and most noticiable near the gums.
My dentist says that it's normal in some people, but is annoying anyway.

Just one thing... don't brush your teeth TOO much!

Posted by: pMASTER Mar 21 2009, 19:59

And don't brush your teeth within an hour or so after your last meal. Sour or sweet food will soak your tooth enamel and you'll basically just scrape your enamel off instead of really cleaning your teeth.

I had just been called from TeleTech, an important company (important in the world of CallCenters, that is), I passed the phone interview and were organizing for the face-to-face meeting when I ask about the workhours... The only hours avaible are from 3 PM to 9 PM, and I've to go to college at 7 PM.

The other company never called me back, if there is a god he can screw himself.

And yes, why the question? I know, it's a sh*tty job, but they payment is not that bad (at least here) and well, as I don't have anyother work experience that's one of the best jobs I can apply.

F*cking daylight savings!

It's not that I don't like farmers, but seriously, why not a 10-minute jump each day for the first 6 days of the week, than a whole hour jump on the last day. When I need to get up 9. And I've set my alarm for half seven. And now it's half-8.

F*cking daylight savings...

Posted by: pMASTER Mar 29 2009, 15:29

Here in Germany we owe daylight saving time to Adolf Hitler.
His legacy was good enough for young Germany to abolish everything his regime introduced except for this little nasty thing: Daylight saving time.

Up to this day, Germany is renaming streets or places the name of which were given during the Nazi time. You can't even publicly say that the Autobahn programme of the Nazis was a good thing.

But daylight saving time...That's a thing we must praise.
Waste seperation is an invention from the Nazis, too. The arms industry should have easier access to recyclable ressources.

Econazis, that's what we are.

People moaning about/extolling the virtues of MW2...
Repeatedly...
Everywhere I turn...

Posted by: pMASTER Nov 11 2009, 16:37

Nope this is just about Steam.

Not MW2.

It's like Vista's rights management or SECUROM - just a frigging tool to harass honest customers. No, that's not true either. I'm pissed off by the general attitude of the gaming industry towards its customers. It's been smoldering in me since it took me almost a day to install ArmA2.

I mean, could you tell me please why I should buy such an expensive product if the original copy comes up with a goddamn copy protection mode that tells me I mustn't run certain programs on my system or that fucks the entire installation process up when it does not like my DVD drive. And then there is this neat internet validation service thingy that doesn't allow me to specify the installation path and as if that wasn't enough, tells me I only have a limited contingent of installations left?

Because I could just as well get the entire thing for free and without the surrounding crap.

And guess what? Software piracy is still safe and sound.

Posted by: D@V£ Nov 11 2009, 18:22

Vista's rights management is disable-able... you don't like it, turn it off...

There's an annoying thing, people who complain about Vista because of a single feature that takes less than 5 minutes to turn off. (I mean, it's like complaining a desklight is on, when the switch is right next to you, there's no reason you can't turn it off, you just enjoy complaining)

Which brings me to:
Annoying thing no.2: People who enjoy complaining.

As for Steam, all these are developer issues, as I thought I said but apparently didn't, this is down to external copy protection being stuck on top of Steam (usually SecuROM and other such nonsense, this is your limited installs issue right here). There's no reason for this, as Steam is, in itself, a perfectly good copy protection system. There are plenty of good pieces of software on Steam, such as Killing Floor or Red Orchestra, which work flawlessly. You only need to be online to activate the game, Steam also provides multiplayer services and whatnot. Installing is as simple as downloading. Once it's activated you don't even need to be online to play.

The only thing you've said that has any real grounding in reality is that you don't get to choose where to install the game. But, do you really need to? If you want to install it to a different drive just install steam to that drive. It's not rocket science.

The issue is, my final annoying thing for today;
Developers who make absolutely no effort to modify their software for cross-platform compatibility.

EDIT:
Whoops, forgot one.

Not Steam but STEAMWORKS and also Windows Live; forcing you to have a net connection for save games to work (Offline saves work for Windows Live mind but only for offline games and steam can be launched in offline mode, but updates are solely through live and Steamworks...) I have this on DOW2 and ETW. Annoys me a little. I like being offline for SP games.

JESUS CHRIST. Have you heard their latest idea? Apparently meat farming is a major contributor to man made climate change! ohnoo.gif
Firstly, this is cows f*cking farting. If that's not natural emission, then what the f*ck is? If anything, eating meat is decreasing the amount of methane and whatnot in the atmosphere.

Oh, that brings me to my second point quite nicely.

2. Global Warming Fanatics.
I know what you're probably thinking if you're smart, and, no; Fanatics is preciously the right word. Half of the crap these people seem to believe is about as far removed from reality as the stuff those cnuts who attend military funerals with "God hates F*gs" placards. Here's the facts about emissions in Australia, a typical "Western" country (in terms of populace, which would is a more important factor in pollution than size, quotation marks because it's in the south east).

QUOTE
Imagine 1 kilometre of atmosphere and we want to get rid of the carbon pollution in it created by human activity. Let's go for a walk along it.
The first 770 metres are Nitrogen.
The next 210 metres are Oxygen.
That's 980 metres of the 1 kilometre. 20 metres to go.
The next 10 metres are water vapour. 10 metres left.
9 metres are argon. Just 1 more metre.
A few gases make up the first bit of that last metre.
The last 38 centimetres of the kilometre - that's carbon dioxide. A bit over one foot.
97% of that is produced by Mother Nature. It's natural.
Out of our journey of one kilometre, there are just 12 millimetres left. Just over a centimetre - about half an inch.
That's the amount of carbon dioxide that global human activity puts into the atmosphere.
And of those 12 millimetres Australia puts in ..18 [sic] of a millimetre.
Less than the thickness of a hair. Out of a kilometre!
As a hair is to a kilometre - so is Australia's contribution to what Mr. Rudd calls Carbon Pollution.

Imagine Brisbane's new Gateway Bridge, ready to be opened by Mr. Rudd. It's been polished, painted and scrubbed by an army of workers till its 1 kilometre length is surgically clean. Except that Mr. Rudd says we have a huge problem, the bridge is polluted - there's a human hair on the roadway. We'd laugh ourselves silly.

Lead scientists are being forced to resign simply for stating these facts http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601124&sid=an0YbipgqczQ. You know, just like how lead scientists were being executed for stating that maybe the earth isn't the centre of the universe. And now even the EPA are looking to classify CO2, you know, that stuff you breath out, as a "Public Danger". These are clearly the sort of people so lacking in mental capacity that they would probably think getting rid of all the CO2 is the atmosphere is a great idea.

For those of your who said "Yeah, that would be a good idea" to that last bit. Get the f*ck off these forums and learn about a little something called "photosynthesis". I think you'll find it's quite useful, because it stops the everything on the planet, you know, dying of suffocation. Though I imagine if you are one of these idiots the entire notion might be a bit too complex for you...

Posted by: Wittmann Dec 8 2009, 06:18

Our current leader of the opposition is convinced, on some levels along with his backer, Senator Minchin that climate change is a gigantic leftist conspiracy to de-industrialise the world.

There are fanatics on both sides of the debate - I think Copenhagen is probably the right step as it seeks to reasonable address the issue where as the ultra-Green leftists want it to fail in the hopes the world becomes worse off forcing us to take more drastic options, whilst the right wishes it to fail as they believe it's all a conspiracy and damnit, there's money in dem dere rainforests and screw the frogs, trees, natives ect.

My solution is much simpler.

I could just do what Tony Blair did and lie about all of them. You know, like how he was always saying "I won't increase tax". Turned out pretty well. Good thing I've got no ethics, 'eh?

Anyways, I seem to be a tad calmer now, so I'll continue:
3. People who repeatedly try to pass off "US Military Robots", "Monkey controls mechanical hand with own brain" and "Man controls computer with non-invasive EEG" as "News".
I have seen two of these in the "news" this last week last week. This is not news. Just because you don't know about it does not make it news. I was the only person in my flat last year who knew about the Soviet efforts in Afghanistan, but if the BBC had "USSR enters Afganistan" in their headlines... well... I don't really need to finish that comparison, do I?

For those who are wondering:
The "new" US Army Robots are currently on H+'s frontpage video links (seriously, these guys claim to be futurists? It might be a good start to stop living in the past...), http://www.geekologie.com/2008/08/07/military-robots.jpg, you know, the one they started throwing through windows at the beginning of the Afghan occupation to see if it annoyed the Taliban. You can tell it's a pretty old video because the soldiers in are still using D-BDUPAT...

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2000/11/001116080512.htm showed up somewhere this week, I can't remeber where. For those of you who don't know, this happen 9 years ago. Let me put that in perspective for you, this was when Clinton was still US president. This was back when if you said "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_H._W._Bush", people would think of that stupid looking old guy with the moronic grin who used to be president and invaded Iraq... oh wait...

As for EEG vidja game controllers. This is not new. This has been around for a while now. I know it hasn't popped up on some so called "news" sites for a while, but it keeps doing it. I can't be bothered finding the details on this one because it hasn't actually appeared in this week's news. You can look it up yourself if you really want to know...

The so called internet "Aspies".

Before we go any further with this, I don't mean people with Asperger's Disorder. That'd be like me saying I hate white males between the ages of 19 and 24. No, I'm talking about the group of people who claim to have asperger's disorder so they can get away with acting like assholes. What's more, they seem to think they're better than everyone else because of it.

Here is my message to you people:
F*CK. YOU.
You clearly have no idea what this disorder is. You clearly think that just because you're a c*nt you can get away with it because you've self-diagnosed yourself with some condition? I have this disorder, and I have not had an easy time growing up with it. I still have problems with it occasionally. Reading wikipedia does not constitute any form of medical knowledge. Especially concerning the sensory issues related to ALL forms of autism. (Which I can't help but notice seem to have been reduced to little more than a passing mention on the aforementioned 'encyclopaedia')

You people have made a mockery of the very real problems of the families and sufferers affected by this condition for your own petty gain. In my mind that makes you even worse than people who pretend to be crippled to get money from their government. You people are the reason if anyone asks me about my condition, I just say "high functioning autism" then change the subject. I hope you all die in the most painful ways imaginable.

Every single day on the lead up to Xmas can go suck a d*** though.

Posted by: pMASTER Dec 29 2009, 23:18

You're sure? You might want to test it on another system, especially to find out whether your computer is working flawlessly or not.

Posted by: Blackscorpion Dec 30 2009, 00:16

Oddly enough... after putting the DVD into the old machine (~2003, now mostly used for storage), it works. Installing it onto an external HD at the moment, just in case. Wonder if burning it onto a CD and trying that in would work...

Wonder why it doesn't work on this thing, though. Wonder if it's something wrong with the whole system or just the DVD station... supermodern HD/Blu-Ray can't handle a few small scratches on the surface?

Posted by: pMASTER Dec 30 2009, 00:30

Sometimes a computer will produce CRC errors with otherwise flawless files when it has problems with accessing the RAM.

I'm not against adverts (f*ck you BBC) but it seems some companies seem to have lost the plot slightly. I'm not a marketing genius, but I think making people despise your product and company isn't the best way to sell stuff. Jus' saying.

Ah! Sweet!
I fail to see why we don't frequent these threads more often - isn't it great to rant about annoying stuff and take pleasure in seeing that other people suffer from the same kind of shit as you do?

What I find very annoying is when something embarrassing ruins me entire day.
Had two of those incidents today (FML!).

One of the staff with my oncologist's is the cutest thing. Truth be told I never know if I want to bang her hard or just keep her in a glass like a butterfly. Anyways, as I was laying there waiting for the check-up to commence suddenly she felt urged to explain to me how to best conceal an erection if need be.

Oi! Wait, my day got even more embarrassing.

After my stay at the doctor's I went to the jeweler to have my broken wristwatch fixed. Way into the official opening hours I was still waiting for the shop to open at last. With me there waited a gal my age. As she was looking kind of annoyed too I thought I should chat her up and went for a joke: pointing at the watches in the showcase I said "It sucks when customers can see by the shopkeeper's own goods how late they are". She was like "uhhahaha, yeah, well...".
Finally the shopkeeper arrived - and who'd be waiting for me inside on the other side of the counter? The very same gal, who turned out to be the shopkeeper's daughter and new co-clerk.

And something entirely else: nanny state arrived on the internet. Today Firefox simply refused to run Flash Player and whatnot because of "This plugin is out of date. You should update it". Well?! Erase "should", insert "must", right? Screw you.

'eh, not much between them anyway.)

Facebook "spying" is pretty dumb to begin with. It's really just data mining, people can't expect their personal details to remain secret if they put them in a public place. And it's not even like they're being encouraged to do so, it actually takes effort to do. It's like spray-painting your bank details on the side of your house. Someone's going to spend all your money, and I don't blame them.

Posted by: Elliot Carver Jun 30 2013, 17:44

In a world where you can go to prison for 2 years for saying on Twitter 'typical Muslims stabbing a soldier to death in London' and only get 13 months inside for raping underage girls ... 15 years ago (Stuart Hall) it doesn't really matter anymore, everything is too messed up on its head. Fridays budget - we saved 11.5 billion *yay* oh wait ... we still borrowed 120bn last year, another 80bn this year. In other words we borrowed the NHS or the Welfare budget. We'd have to completely get rid of the entire health service or the entire benefits system just to break even. What makes me laugh is if a country like Rwanda was allowed to borrow 100bn a year it'd be a first world country too mellow.gif

That little fun fact the government loves to hide - Dave and Osborne are working on the Deficit = the gap between the amount we make (GDP) and the amount we spend (Budget). Thats not our Debt. The UK national debt is £1.3 trillion (Q1, 2013) ... or our entire GDP for 3 years.
Remember we saved 11.5bn in Fridays budget...<10% of the amount we have to borrow in 2014, <0.1% of our entire debt ...

Look at the country again ... look at other countries, see how they have progressed over the past 5 years and we haven't. See how everyone is poor and has to "club together in these times of austerity" but behind the scenes the top 2% are getting massively rich. Thats why you don't vote Conservative. Or now Liberal Democrat who let these feckless twats in or Labour who were borrowing so heavily they nearly doubled the national debt in a decade and caused the financial crisis in the first place. 2005 General Election i abstained from voting as i said "there was no one who i felt fit to represent me" and i was really hated for it by friends and family who said 'our right to vote is what our grandfathers beat the nazis for'. 7 1/2 years later after sticking by my own guns everyone says i was right all along ...

Country needs a decent military coup.

Could rant all day baby but i got O2 modeling to rock thumbsup.gif

I'm not happy with the NSA scanning the entire interweb either - the problem is it could even be legal as the whole net periphery is situated in the US of A of all countries - but it's not security concerns that kill my outrage but how people deal with it. I mean, why do people who post nudies online for the whole wide world to see complain about the NSA scanning their FB conversations for "suspicious" words? What is this? You'll show them your junk but when they scan for the word "bomb" its a breach of privacy?

Oh, yes, annoying things: Edward Snowden. Can't open a newspaper anymore without his goddamn mug being everywhere.

You have the right to vote... though, you can only really vote for the 3 main parties, and they basically stand for the same thing, raise taxes, cut public spending and line their own pockets as much as they can.

Don't like it? Throw away your vote by trying for someone else! They can't win because no one votes for them, because they'd be throwing away their vote since they can't win! Absolutely no problem with the system there!

Say, as a community, how much of the NSA's time do you think we waste with TERRORIST and BOMB addons?

You can hardly know that they really aren't up to the task if you never want to give them the chance. With all that talking about how much of a sucker the established parties are, how could that be the worse alternative? I don't get it.

Far too many. And that's also part of the problem, there's so many "alternative" parties that not enough people vote for any one of them. Which leads to the wonderful situation where you're "represented" by some asshole flown in to a safe seat by the Labour party because his hometown kicked him out for being a corrupt bastard. Don't like him? Your other option is a some Tory asshole who knows he's not going to win because it's a safe seat for labour, so didn't even bother campaigning and spent the money on a new allotment instead.

End result, you end up with the lovely situation where Labour and the Lib Dems both get around 25% of the vote, yet, somehow Labour have 40% of the house and the Lib Dems only have 10%. Democracy in action, ladies and gentlemen!

Sure, you can vote for Uncle Ewyn's home grown vegetable party, since the system isn't proportional, and there's no transferable vote, Uncle Ewyn could come second in every constituency in the country, actually have the majority of the votes in the entire country, and still not get one ounce of representation in government. It's lovely how fucked up our voting system is.

Of course there's people who want to change it, but since it's massively beneficial to Labour and the Conservatives, no one's ever going to support in parliament, instead, they're more than happy to vote on far more important issues, for example, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-23122628

Posted by: Elliot Carver Jul 1 2013, 16:16

Which is exactly why i said "there was no one who i felt fit to represent me". I know so many liberal democrat voters who feel ashamed their vote was used to let the conservatives into power, im glad im not part of that bunch. So if i don't vote for the main 3 my choices are murder a black person or live in a cave whilst waiting 30 years for British industry to catch up with the rest of the world. Or i can vote, as you say, for someone with a personal agenda to change something local, like stopping a wind farm or cuddling TB infested badgers.

I want a party that will actually do stuff to tackle the sh*t country we now live in. Stop underage pregnancy, stop the booze culture, stop the slut culture, make education free again, build a decent military, get rid of nukes, stop paying people not to work, make glasses available on the NHS, lower transport costs, actually use taxes to pay for things, tackle crime properly, install a proportionate justice system, not build HS2 and spend the money on replacing Heathrow ... the list is endless. All we've had for 5 years is insignificant cuts to the public sector and the pseudofear of recession.

When a political party starts saying the things i want to hear then i will invest my vote. Until then my vote is staying with me.

Posted by: Elliot Carver Jul 2 2013, 14:35

Also to rant some more - Snowden

I refuse to believe that a sh*t hot analyst at the top of his field with access to the entire NSA suite and 4 years planning only made it for 10 days before getting stuck.

There must be more to this than is being reported in the media yammer.gif

Posted by: D@V£ Jul 2 2013, 16:36

A sense of morality, perhaps? I can see why, with modern media, you'd have reason to doubt this exists. But, hey, it's an explanation, and a good enough one for me tongue.gif I mean, if people are dumb enough to believe in stuff like Christianity, then I don't see how someone thinking they shouldn't be spying on each other is too outlandish happy.gif

(Don't get me wrong! I enjoy spying on people as much as the next guy. The next guy is Mark, though, so there may be a degree of bias in that statement.)

As for the path, getting from the US to Hong Kong is pretty easy, Ecuador, not so much. After the leak, they revoked his passport. Have you ever tried going somewhere without a passport? It's not as easy Hollywood would have you believe happy.gif (Or at least, not as easy for someone who's used to modern comforts. Something about being huddled in the back of a freezer truck for a few days with a hundred other bodies, a corpse or two and very little air doesn't appeal to westerners. I can't imagine why.)

Posted by: pMASTER Jul 2 2013, 17:01

In my books Edward Snowden isn't a hero. I've heard it many times before and I do fully agree: in a democratic state, which the USA still are (hear hear), there'd have been plenty of legal and sustainable ways to take action against governmental trespass - which prism (unfortunately) not necessarily is if stateside law allows it. He could've approached the senate committee which oversees the NSA and what there is more. Instead he blew the bomb up in a crusade for "freedom" and hid away - in utterly unfree countries where political criminals like him aren't brought properly to trial but sent to forced labour camps. Why is that? Why didn't he just cross the border to Canada where there is no extradition treaty with either? So he was either bought by the Russians/ Chicoms or he's an attention-seeking show-off just like all the internet's other "freedom fighters" such as Julian Assange and Bradley Manning who, oddly enough, only go against the "evil imperialists" as well instead of really risking something.

Well, if us conservatives lose the elections later this year he'll be getting asylum in Germany - our leftists already promised that.

Posted by: D@V£ Jul 2 2013, 21:30

I think you missed the part where they're trying to have him arrested for treason. You know, the reason he's hiding in a foreign country to begin with? Or do you just not see how mind-blowingly stupid it is to try ratting out the organization that is spying on everyone to the organization that is spying on everyone?

Posted by: Elliot Carver Jul 3 2013, 00:19

Well if he was on the plane back to Bolivia with the El Presidente he's been diverted into Austria - https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BONBETuCMAE2D1H.png:large

My take is he was working for the MSS (Chinese intel) after being rejected for SF duty. Chinese wanted to dump him as US - China relations have thawed over the past half decade and to avoid a black bag Snowden went rogue to the press and turned up on the HK doorstep. They stuck him a safe house and dropped him off at the airport telling him to never come back. He went to Russia to blarb to the FSB in return for asylum and they told him to feck off as their not stupid enough to cuddle up to a wanted US spy. FSB probably stuck him in a safe house until they can find a suitable method of kicking him out that doesn't involve a toe tag.

Its the usual big company bull. Paypal did something similar to a group of friends who all chipped into an account to rent a tennis court for a year. Paypal grabbed the lot, said it was fraudulent and told them they'd need to take paypal to court to recover the money. After a request from the bank to find out where the money was being kept it turned out to be in a stupidly high interest account in the Bahamas ... After 6 months of legal wrangling and red tape Paypal suddenly gave the money back weeks before it went to court.

Its Internet 101 - If its too good to be true, it is. That stunning red head is a man and don't spend more money than you can afford to loose! *facepalm*

With that being said, it happens quite often here that banks defer wire transfers for a day or two in order to increase the sums available to them.

* Samuel Koch. Several years ago the guy broke his neck in a stupid and reckless game show stunt and has been omnipresent ever since with books and shows and whatnot. I cannot take pity on someone who foolishly and utterly unnecessarily endangered his health for game show profit and now presents himself as the nation's First Victim. But you musn't say that unless you want the bleeding hearts zerg you for being an "insensitive prick". What about the poor buggers who become paraplegic by a hard work's accident or something like that?

* The Spanish ranting about Gibraltar but when it comes to Ceuta and Melilla being all like "that's not the same thing".

* Election campaigns. My own party's is fluffy and insubstantial but at least we're not downright lying nor being unfair towards others. The others are. "That's what you say", you might think. Well, it's a difference whether you write on your posters "Vote for me" or "Don't vote for that other asshole!".

* Edward Snowden and all the "OMFG!1!1!NSA1!1!!"-drama.

* Inflation. Food prices have gone up almost 10% due to a mixture of long winter, hot summer and severe flooding and storm damages.
