USSOCOM or United States Special Operations Command is a MilSim unit that is based around the real life USSOCOM Special Operations Community. We are community of players from all around the world from the United States, to Great Britain to Estonia and as far as Indonesia, Thailand and Australia. We have spent alot of time as a unit researching the real life trainings that these units do and adapting them into ArmA 2 and we like to consider ourselves as being amongst the best trained. Each unit within USSOCOM MilSim has its own rigouriously run and set-up training courses from infantry schools to flight schools, we even have our own MSOS and Ranger School for MARSOC and 75th Rangers respectively.

We play ArmA2 Combined Operations. Which means you will need either ArmA 2 and Operation Arrowhead together or the ArmA 2 CO bundle. Whilst not a requirement we do recommend the BAF and PMC DLC's.

Before playing on our servers you will be required to download our modpack through Playwithsix/SixUpdater or Yoma Addon Sync. Ontop of this you will need to have ACE2 and ACRE. A willingness to use these mods and learn them is neccessary.

If you meet these requirements either head to our website below or read on for more information as to what we do. http://us-socom.org/

Once you put in your application you will be handled by our J-1 Recruiting and Retention team where our recruiters will take you through the application phase to make sure that you are definately ready to join our unit. The recruitment process includes:

- Gaming Sessions
- Written Interview
- Board Review

For the application phase you conduct two gaming sessions on our public server with one of the recruiters who will be assessing your attitude, gaming style and skills once that is complete you will be given a written interview to fill out with as much detail as possible your recruiter will then read this and conduct a board review with you where they will give you feedback and tell you whether your application has been accepted or denied.

If accepted you will be transfered to the Retention side of J-1 and TRADOC where you will become a recruit in our Basic Combat Training cycle. We run these cycles generally every month and it lasts two weeks of classes, one week for make-ups and then you graduate on the third saturday. The training consists of six practical sessions covering everything from basic radio useage up to infantry skills in vehicles, on open terrain and in urban areas.

Day 1 - Tools of an infantryman, Navigation and Radio Communication
Day 2 - Weapons training
Day 3 - Convoy Training
Weapons Qualifications
Day 4 - Basic Infantry
Day 5 - Urban Warfare
Day 6 - Final FTX

Please note this is a comprehensive course to bring players of all skill levels upto the same high standard that we expect.

Once you graduate you get to go into one of our four entry level units. MARSOC, Rangers, SOAR and 720th STG. As you progress in these units you can apply to go into fixed wing aviation if you join 720th or you can go to one of our Tier 1 units.

Making up USSOCOM MilSim we have eight units:

- SFOD-Delta (Special Forces Operations Detatchment Delta)
- NSW DEVGRU (Navy Special Warfare Developement Group
- Third Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment
- MARSOC
- 720th Special Tactics Group
- 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiement (Airborne)
- Strike Fighter Squadron One Fifty Four (VFA-154) Black Knights - F/A-18E/F SuperHornets
- 75th Fighter Squadron (USAF) - A10 Thunderbolt II's

Each of these units have their own command structure and follow the rank system of their branch of service. (Army ranks for Rangers, SOAR and Delta. Navy ranks for VFA-154 and DEVGRU, Marine ranks for MARSOC and Air Force ranks for 75th Fighter Squadron and 720th STG.)

As you can see we have many different roles from you standard rifleman and special forces operators to our helicopter crewmen and pilots and our fast jet pilots. No matter who you are we should have a position for you. What will you do?
