Talked with Cervo about this right now, well, here you go! Enjoy all kinds of Operation Flashpoint combat photography!
Please remember the 150kb rule and list all addons you've used if possible!

Edit:

First a few basic rules for this topic:

QUOTE
Maximum allowed filesize for hotlinked images: 150 KB.
If you have larger images, just post the link to the picture.

Every hotlinked picture exceeding 150 KB, or using multiple parts for one image will be punished with a 24hr PR.

List your addons indifferent they're unreleased or for personal use only, it doesn't matter.

Posts without listed addons will be punished with a 12 h PR (or in combination with punishment above).

This forum section is for OPERATION FLASHPOINT game only! VBS pictures and pictures from other games are not allowed!

How to post pictures in this thread?

Upload your picture on internet, there are several free hosting image service websites where you can do that such as http://imageshack.us/.
Once your screenshot is uploaded, you will just have to create a new answer to the forum's thread by clicking on "Add reply".
Paste the link of your screenshot in your forum's post. If your screenshot is less than 150KB, you can put it directly as a picture and not as just a link in your forum's post.

so here we go again!

here, my humble contribution...a small series about a fictive coalition war in middle east. it's a remake of a series i posted last year but whose content unfortunately happened to disappear in the twillight of myimg.de...(by the way, this is true, the story and nearly the same pictures were published first in march 2006! i find, my prognoses are interesting when taking the actual world situation into consideration biggrin.gif)
the pictures are all in more or less small resolutions since their original size is up to 3mb. i still have the hires ones, of course.
i simply cannot really specify what addons i used since my mod folders crossed the line of 10 gb size and i use everything i need to make a screenshot when i feel atmosphere requires it. however, to mention the most important ones...

-fx/graphic replacements: dxdll, johns smoke&fire, modulesky, ffur2005 modern edition
-ikârs planes
-ofrp
-bwmod
-combat!
-king homers/inquisitors m1 abrams
-lobo's hk pack
-dma toyota wars
-im:uc beta release
-falklands mod
-vit's addons

gazala is a dictatorial ruled, oil-rich country on the arabian peninsula, situated between saudi-arabia, yemen and oman.
+100kb
+100kb
in late summer 2006, german domestic intelligence services uncover large espionage operations of gazalesian agents in germany which were supposed to push the controversial nuclear programme of the islamic republic.
when the federal government demands an official apology, the regime in gazala city does not react. thus, the germans enforce an eu-wide oil-embargo targeted against gazalesian goods. the gazalesian potentate, marshall ibrahim kodo, frets and fumes. on his order, gazalesian coastal troops hazard the german cruiser liner "ms aurora" in red sea and force it into gazalesian waters, only to state the ship would have illegally entered their territory. seriously damaged after the gazalesian hostilities, the ship quickly sinks, leaving 337 passengers dead.
+100 kb

the attack rapidly becomes condemned by the security council of the united nations, handing over the mandate for a counter strike to north atlantic treaty organization to oust marshal kodo. after a nine-months taking negotiation poker in which gazala refuses any giving in and to pay compensations to the relatives of the people killed in the 'aurora'-attack, nato declares war against gazala. huge contingents are concentrated in yemen and saudi-arabia. origin of allied operations are french nato bases in djibouti. on march 3rd 2007, aerial warfare starts to increase pressure on marshall kodo. the name of the operation is "awe and fear". nomen est omen - the sky is without doubt dominated by allied forces: here an usaf f117a 'nighthawk' stealth fighter from 999th strategical air wing of incirlik air base.

a heavily armed usaf b-52h stratofortress during take off process on djibouti airbase runway 9/27.

+100 kb

the gazalesian troops don't want to be sitting ducks for the invaders. strong fortresses along the bersheba defence line were set up during the political calm period until the start of hostilities. the positions of that bulwark are manned now by tens of thousands of enemy soldiers, patiently waiting for the arrival of allied forces.

+100kb

only, the coalitions forces don't rely just on drones and satellites for intelligence gathering. human intelligence operations still have a high value, too. therefore, the ado of gazalesian forces could not be hidden from german fernspäher soldiers (note: german long range reconnaissance troops).

+100 kb

among other special forces troops, they lead allied aircraft fire to start a heavy shelling of the strongholds. an american air force a-10 plane drops a laser guided bomb above a radar guidance post.

+100 kb

although being clearly dominated by us air force contigents, the aerial operations of course the see participations of other air forces, too:

continuance...

impressions of a war: two gazalesian fighters stand on guard infront of a baath-party-building, a poster behind them shows the father of president ibrahim kodo, a mastermind of panarabic nationalistic ideologies.
+100kb

the manning of the defence lines is the main goal of the gazalesian troops during the first day of fightings. 39 gazalesian divisons, among them several armoured and mechanized divisions, take a stand in bersheba line. a gazalesian mirage f1 flies westwards above a troop contigent arriving in a stronghold.
+100kb

the gazalesian forces concentrate their attention now onto the southern yemini border. in yemen are the biggest allied deployments expected. a soldier manns his fn mag machine gun nest in a position a long the bersheba line. in the background, mil mi-24d hind helicopters of gazalesian 5th airmobile brigade can be seen.
+100kb

unseen aspects of warfare: among coalition special forces approaching to the border, are also even more specialized units - here, accompanied by german ksk special forces troops with a fennek reconnaissance vehicle and american navy seals, two american afsoc meteorology specialists wait for datas that will be gathered by a german aladin uav. attentive observers can spot the uav starting in the background.
+100kb

to get familiar with the terrain and to confuse gazalesian spies, allied forces permanently make approaches to the border. all the time, the troops are on alert to defend themselves against possibly feeling provoked gazalesian troops. soldiers of the german air force infantry regiment stand on guard while their belgian and american comrades rest on a halt in the desert, not far from the panarabian motorway.
+100kb

not far from the border: a french puma helicopter of le 132e bataillon cynophile de l'armée de terre tests it's flare dropping systems in formation flight with other french l'armèe de terre aircrafts.

continuance...

after nine days of heavy air raids against high value targets, the ground invasion is launched. when british sas special forces climb over the fence of a border station, the allied strike has already become unstoppable.
+100kb

the detained guards are kept as hostages to disperse any suspicion with their help in case that higher positions set up communication with the border checkpoint.
+100kb

however, the indications couldn't have been more obvious to the gazalesian leaders - for example a large number of reconnaissance undertakings in the area, like this recce flight of a german mig-29 above a industrial area, not far from the city of bîr mogreihn.
+ 100kb

a major threat to the allied plans as well as to the cities of allied nations in the middle east like israel or saudi arabia are ssm1-scud b tactical missiles, stationed on mobile launchers on secret places all over the country.
+ 100kb

therefore, allied special operation forces operated behind the enemy lines long before the invasion had begun. their task is to locate and destroy the menace outgoing from the scud-launchers. two australian special air service regiment members are seen here infront of a mirage f1 plane, only lousy hidden from the range of allied forces, during a search-and-destroy mission in the middle of nowhere.
+100kb

meanwhile, the first major troop contingents cross the border. a german leopard 2 a6 main battle tank scans the area on it's way to the panarabian motorway.

large convoys of coalition forces wallow into gazala via the panarabian motorway. the mainly poor equipment of gazalesian forces cannot hinder them.

coalition artillery forces start a heavy shelling of the defence lines to prepare their rush into the gazalesian heartland. a german battery from artilleriebrigade 100 opens fire on bîr mogreihn.

first major battles break out during the early hours of afternoon. norwegian soldiers secure the resupply lines while their unit is on the move towards bîr mogreihn.
+100kb

french and german troops of franco-german brigade in close quarter battle in the outskirts of bîr mogreihn.
+100kb

it seems like nothing can stop the allied forces now. but what allied commanders are unaware of is, that the regional military commander moves troops into western outskirts of bîr mogreihn while the major battles are carried out in the east. among these reinforcements are also quite skilled and well equipped troops of the elite saladin division.
+100kb

saladin warriors of the famous republican guard regiment patiently wait for the enemy. their skills combined with their knowledge of the terrain symbolize a major menace for the allied efforts in bîr mogreihn.

some critical observers already state that special forces will determine the result of the war. the special forces coalition already made headlines during it's afghanistan deployment...a circle of exceptionally skilled, very experienced, professional and close-mouthed anonymous specialists. an ap photographer caught some of them during a halt in the gazalesian desert - a day later, he will be fired for intentionally violating operational security of allied forces.

As far as I remember it was particularly useful for infantry and light armor; it couldn't knock out a T-72 in a few rounds like in ArmA. Still, it did create lots of smoke (which was kinda annoying when flying 3rd person weirdsmiley.gif) and it slows down your aircraft significantly so you're forced to fire in bursts, which makes it an incredibly realistic A-10 IMHO (unlike the one in ArmA).

day 2 of the major ground offensive - the hunt for mobile scud-launchers: coalition special forces sweep enemy compounds in the zatar area, a gas-rich wetlands region located near the gulf coast.

aspects of a war: transportation. without capable and reliable transportation systems, armies become static and cannot bridge large distances quickly. the power of united states armed forces is based on a giant fleet of transport planes who are able to transport even main battle tanks. but european armies dispose of good transportation units, too: a french c-160 transall transport plane and a united kingdom royal army ch-47 chinook in flight.

aspects of a war: the human component. an exhausted norwegian soldier uses a peaceful minute to rest in a neighbourhood of bîr mogreihn.
