It's that FPTP thingy again, we've actually got more votes than the last election. For example, in my own lovely constituency of Swansea West, beloved local hero Peter May has only 500 less votes than Gordon's Croydon Crook Geraint Davies, there are however around 7,000 voters who choose to waste there vote on Rene Kinzett (Tory). With the STV system, it's pretty much a given that all of those Tory voters would have either put Plaid or the Lib Dems as their second preference... so...

Now follows an open letter to Gordon Brown:
Resign already you worthless prat!

now they have the economy to sustain a high tech military i guess they thought "why not". maybe they will soon join the war against terror? hopefully it wont further complicate things with Pakistan by purchasing these jets.

Hi, an amazing history... "mongolian neo-nazis", i've said it many times but i think that i can say it again; i hope that the 3rd world war (with nukes) begins some day (soon), don't makes sense to spend all that money in maintain what is until today a so unusefull thing as the nuclear arsenals if you don't really gonna use it. And we know that there's a lot of groups and even countryes that will deserve to be nuked.

The link:

Men arrested in Gateshead over suspected Koran burning

This is an outrage. The person responsible for ordering this arrest should be arrested for treason, as it's in clear opposition to the principals of religious freedom this country has spent the last several hundred years upholding.

For starters, this is a completely sham charge, "inciting racial hatred" has no grounds here, because Islam is a religion, not a race. There's got more grounds for arresting the Pope after he called all non-Catholics Nazi's (Yes, I'm still pissed off about that). But here's the thing that really irks me. What the police have said about it:
QUOTE
The kind of behaviour displayed in this video is not representative of our community as a whole.

Our community is one of mutual respect and we continue to work together with community leaders, residents and people of all faiths and beliefs to maintain good community relations.

That's right. They've arrested these people, not because of any legitimate offence, but because, to paraphrase these "people" (and I get the feeling that's too strong a word), they aren't nice.

Basically, they're the bad guys from Hot Fuzz! ohnoo.gif

They condemn somebody for burning a Quran? Shouldn't they be condemning the ones who burn embassies and churches in retaliation?
I'm so sick of this crap. It may sound moronic, but I wish we would have preserved the attitude we showed towards Islam in the immediate aftermath of 9/11. As I see it, that was the only moment in the past ten years when we actually made Muslims and the "treehugging please-everybody"s out there think over where Islam is actually heading to.

I have no problem with condemning people. One of the most important things about free speech is that anyone else is free to say "that's just dumb". The fact they've been arrested though, on a phoney charge more importantly, is what gets me.

Arresting someone, even if this charge could never be prosecuted, for expressing their feelings in (and I have to emphasise this) a total legal manner, is nothing short of Fascism. Exactly the sort of thing we're supposed to be preventing in the Middle East.

This is pretty rich. The US admitted to infecting hundreds of mentally ill people Guatemala with gonorrhoea and syphilis, now Obama's asking for an apology because their president accused the US of "crimes against humanity".

Thanks to Cameron Gordon Brown the MoD is having to cope with an 8% cut to its budget. 7.9% of that seems to have fallen, amusingly, on the Navy. The Harriers are gone and so are our carriers. We currently have no front line naval deterrent and wont until 2015/6 (thats if the JSF doesn't fall behind any more)! We've even had to ask the French for help ... Sarkozy coming straight over to #10 personally to surrender lol.

So there I was thinking "hmmm we have quite a capability gap for the next 5 years or so. I wonder what will fill it?" I went outside for some fresh air and well, this is what i saw ... Ladies and Gents i give you the Royal Navy front line attack aircraft for the next half decade...i kid you not thumbsup.gif

For the next decade or so at least...on the plus side BAE Systems Glasgow will have plenty of jobs with the ships still left to build...

Still shows, no matter who you vote for your gonna get tools in charge almost jealous of single party states at least it's not disapointing when the new head honcho doesn't do any better.

I wish our remembrance day traditions were similiar to yours (the Commonwealth folks, that is). It is just now that small parts of the society step out of the past's shades and begin to honor those who paid the ultimate price. Our remembrance day is a day of state mourning, a day of blaming the circumstances.
