Armed Assault Info Forums _ Addons _ Dave's SLA pack

Don't look at me like that. You knew this was coming.

Still a work in progress, but I think I'm sort of at the point where I can show it off to wet your appetite.

We've got SLA, but that's not all!

We've got the biggest requested feature from the A2 Pack, RACS!
Look at the guy in the background facing the wrong way. This is why everyone thinks RACS are a complete joke.

We've got CDF, because, hey, why not?

And we've got these guys, whoever the hell they are.
That guy in the background isn't actually shooting. That's a bug. Please don't look at it.

Expect a preliminary release of infantry and weapons within the next few weeks.

Nonsense! When we tested a brand new model in a hermetically sealed, temperature controlled environment, it worked flawlessly some of the time! If that's not a sign of quality engineering, I don't know what is.

Good now we just need a map with a huge hermetically sealed, temperature controlled environment lab biggrin.gif

So, here's a quick update, first, a lineup of assorted CDF types:

Next, you've probably noticed some funny looking weapons being held by these guys, and, well, I've decided to go down a similar path to ArmA.3 in terms of equipment, so some of it is fictitious, in that vein, let's talk a bit about the CDF's standard issue rifle, the Brenka:

Or, to give it it's full name the "Brno-Enfield-Kalashnikov Samopal". During the days of the Warsaw pact, the Soviet Union encouraged it's satellites to produce their own equipment based around the 7,62 M43 round. The Brenka is the ChSSR's offering in this regard. It shares the same heritage as the Czech Vzor.58, and the resemblance undoubtedly shows. Following the collapse of ChSSR and downscaling of the CDF, a large number of these rifles have found themselves in the hands of less legitimate groups.

As part of a modernization program, the CDF have rebuilt some of these rifles to use STANAG rails and ammunition, although, technical considerations mean that standardized magazines cannot be used.

7.62x51mm? nice round for a AK tongue.gif

M43 is 7,62x39mm. Don't you read what's written on the bullets people shoot at you? tongue.gif

(There might be something similar to the PSL in 7,62x51mm, though.)

yeye but NATO standard is 7.62x51 tongue.gif

The modernized rifle is 5,56. Given that Chernarus have buddied up with NATO, it makes more sense than having a 5,45 standard rifle.
