Hi all i was wondering if anyone has experienced mission behaviour changes while using certain mods?
i was trying to play Convoy ambush and the night spec op mission, can't recall what its called at the minuite, but they either don't complete as they should or all kinds of things happen that didnt before? any ideas? |

Most addons shouldn't change anything in the original missions (since the vanilla stuff isn't overwritten), if you're using something like ACE, though, you'll sometimes find missions that break, since the vanilla classes have been overwritten (usually this isn't noticeable, since the classes still have the same names, but there can be issues if they reference, or don't reference, some of the classes the original object did)
(ie, a mission that ends when the player takes has an M16 might not work, as it'd be checking to see if he has "M16" and not "Mod_M16") I believe there's a cheatey way to end a mission with a success at any time, but I'm not sure what it is. -------------------- The Rules - Nothing too complicated, follow these and we'll have no problems.

Most addons shouldn't change anything in the original missions (since the vanilla stuff isn't overwritten), if you're using something like ACE, though, you'll sometimes find missions that break, since the vanilla classes have been overwritten (usually this isn't noticeable, since the classes still have the same names, but there can be issues if they reference, or don't reference, some of the classes the original object did) (ie, a mission that ends when the player takes has an M16 might not work, as it'd be checking to see if he has "M16" and not "Mod_M16") I believe there's a cheatey way to end a mission with a success at any time, but I'm not sure what it is. okay, i am still messing around with certain things like event handlers and stuff, was thinking it would be the effects mod, including things like increased engagement range, however it still gos nuts, even when there removed. the night strike mission is almost un-do-able do to the alarm being sounded even before i gets to the bridge at the top of hill...(first sign is tracer fire shooting over the base from left to right (you start situated on the right side) i went and looked theres a hidden static U.S mg in the woods opposite the base, which i never knew was there.. thing is also is that even if the engagement range was increased the distance between the static mg and base is less than 500 m easy. i also had a odd behaviours with ambush convoy mssion where either a/ mission plan update and the mission ends with a no victory (believe chopper crashed) or b/ you board the chopper but it just loops the area and never leaves???? very odd. |
