Some fairly nice footage of the Hervanta ski ramp, and the surrounding areas. You can see my flat after the 5:45 mark, about 500 m away from the camera, just after and a bit to the side of the construction crane. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCTja0jebMg Also, managed to shoot a few different pistols today and run a few different drills, with fairly good results... yay? |

Despite the regular stuff sold being quite sh*t (still better than Fosters), we do have a few gems, too. http://www.goodnewsfinland.com/archive/new...t-in-the-world/ Also, the heat continues. Apparently until Friday. Might break heat records the next few days, guess who's gonna have some fun times outdoors with BMPs and MT-LBs. |

The water temperature in the smaller lakes has been around 25°C for the past week or so. Well, hasn't been much below that for the past month, almost. Currently aiming for a minimum of 1 km of swimming per day. And I barely was able to stay afloat a few years back. What a strange world... And if not that, well, Space Engineers. |

I'm enjoying simpler things for a little while. Picked up Papers, Please and have invested in Valiant Hearts. Battle Academy has also been keeping me well amused. Ooooh, Papers is fairly amusing but quite tough in the beginning. You'd need a checklist I guess... I sort of want to get out of Finland for a while. Well, not the country itself, but the people. Exchange applications opening in September, again - Canberra has a few places. Beware, Witty! |

Nothing wrong with the piece. If anything good on the author for making such a comparison. Was just saying its not like the BBC to compare British stuff to WW2 German stuff. Would be like comparing a British soldier to a 60's KKK white supremacist ... the reasoning behind the comparison etc It does ignore a certain fact - the Tiger was a rather specific system, and not built in great numbers. While more comparable in capabilities and thus easier to compare, it gives a distorted view. You just can't ignore the hoards of Shermans, T-34s and PzIVs that formed the bulk of the fighting armies. Hell, even a Panther or a Cromwell (Comet even?) would've given a better comparison. Also, football fans... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-23215676 |

Early summer. Should be: 25 degrees of Celsius, sunshine, barbecues, long nights. Is: 5 degrees of Celsius, continuous rainfall, heatings on one hundred percent, no nights to speak of. I love global warming. It's about 20 degrees here. Could read a paper outside at 3 am... And that's with the overcast weather... I even went swimming on Saturday! |

On a slightly related note, whenever this Jimmy something guy has his picture put up on Wikipedia to appeal for funds he scares the living sh*t outta me with that all-knowing smirk of his. It's like he was thinking "I know where you are. I know which webpage you've visited last. You naughty naughty boy". I always thought he had sh*t his pants, needed to take a dump or had constipation... On an (un)related note... http://www.everydaynodaysoff.com/wp-conten...ynamics-CEO.jpg Oh, and Carver, I thought that thing was a barn in the distance... our speeding cameras are dull gray boxes on top of a pole. |

So... in case someone didn't notice yet, 3 bombs went off in Boston about 2 hours ago - 2 at the finish line of the Boston Marathon and 1 at the JFK Library. 2 reported killed so far with ~20-30 seriously injured, mostly leg amputations from what I gathered. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-22160691 http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_...-04-15-16-59-49 |

Oh, it's hilarious. And becomes somewhat more enjoyable once you actually manage to build something that's not going to explode all the time... There's a free but somewhat limited demo available for download from their site, then again the whole game is about 20 USD. https://kerbalspaceprogram.com/download.php |

Good! I don't have to worry about adapters then... unlike when going to the UK. *glances towards Mark* I also noticed that most T-shirts with print that I have are either in Russian, or might get my ass beaten/thrown into jail in Germany. Thanks to a certain movie and it's predecessor, and a certain surplus shop... |

Well, I sort of hope he's NOT firing at the moment... that bit his hand is around tends to get a bit hot. Seems to be some Israeli stuff on it, which tends to be reasonable priced... It's not unusual that pimped AK are popping up. Some of the attachments have real benefits (e.g. red dots) in most uses, and if the platform itself is still good to go, then why not. |

That's pretty... neat. People still send B-day cards over the mail? Wow. In another news, I might be visiting Hohenlockstedt in Schleswig-Holstein, about 70 km north of Hamburg, at the end of February. Anything to see around there? In case there's free time, namely... |
