Well, I opened the recommended Air Soft thread

Here's my Problem again : rolleyes.gif

Got a question:
I want to buy an Airsoft, but there are some problems.
The first one is the fact I'm living in Germany and not anymore in Switzerland where AEGs >0.5 Joules are allowed, and combined with the problem I'm only 16, it results it's not possible to own legaly any good and powerfull AEGs (only Semi-AEGs, and even there, officialy I'm to young for them)

So AEG's <0.5 are allowed when you are older than 14, but the most time, it's cheap crap, so I wanted to know your opinion about this gun and the maker

AS-24 SCAR L
Details:
Caliber: 6 mm BB
System: AEG - Automatic Electric Gun
Material: ABS and metal parts
Mag: ca. 300 rounds.
Length: ca. 610 mm / 775mm
Weight: ca. 3.000 g
Scale: 1:1
Range: ca. 50 m
Energy: ca. 0,45 Joule (+- 0,03)
Gearbox: Metall Version 2

Is it worth the 140 € ?

Thanks for you opinion wink.gif

PS: Not sure if it's the right thread

I guess I found out they're sold in germany by AS24, and in the UK they are "imported" by JLS or Jing Gong, but It's my main problem to find out if that's true wacko.gif

Looking at it it's very good and powerfull, I'm not sure on the accuracy and these weapons only fine bb's of a certain weight which you'd have to by from the manufacturer of the gun, but these can be expensive. All in all it seems a good weapon but very expensive. You can get some goodones from the internet. I got an AEG (CYMA) metal AK-47 which fires 1600 rnds per minit (Which I strongly reccomend). It's quite accurate and has a range of 200 ft.It started life as a chinese copy of the ak-47 it has then been altered to fire ball barings. All the working parts have been removed and electric parts added. There fore it still has its authentic look and weight. I bought it from some online store.I Saving up for a drum magazine for it (To make it look like an RPK-47) which costs around $150. I like the minimi airsoft gun which is about $340 which fires about 3000 rnds per minit. Unfortunately I won't be able to get one of these scince there is a ban against AEG's (Being sold) in october in England.

Professional Airsoft gaming is still called Airsoft in Germany.
Just the cheap airsoft with less than a have joule energy are so called "Softairs".

WTF That isn't what's happening... They are not banning them they are trying to come to an agreement with the skirmishing community...

It's a load of bolloks to be honest and won't last a year.

EDIT -

QUOTE
Dear John Spellar,

I am writing to you concerning the VCRA (Violent Crime Reduction Act)* due to come into force on the 1st of October. A part of this act states there is to be a ban on importing selling and owning RIFs (Realistic Imitation Firearms), this in itself seems to be a rather sweeping statement as it also basn someone from walking around with things that could be mistaken by the average person as a gun that could include snooker cues in bags or tennis rackets in bags... Sports such as paintball and airsoft are being thrown into this category and being persecuted out of existence due to it. What really gets to me is that this law is being imposed to try and reduce the rates of violent crime within the country which fair enough is indeed understandable and a good thing however from my point of view people who commit these violent crimes can and do source there weapons and in particular firearms from people that can smuggle them in under the radar as it were of the Government. This has and always be the case. Look at the ban on semi automatic firearms ownership in the late eighties there are shootings in and around Birmingham to say the least that involve semi and fully automatic sub machine guns and other fully automatic weapons. I thought that the ban on semi automatic firearms was supposed to stop or drastically reduce this it doesn’t seem to have worked in the past twenty or so years does it? The Government doesn’t seem to know where it stands or what to do about such things.

I write to you with a plea to voice many people’s views within the our area that are law abiding citizens that go out and play these sports and do so in a very professional and safe manner not to be persecuted by this new law. I see it my duty to write to you before others as my MP because it is your duty to voice our thoughts views and concerns in the house of commons. I hope that this message to you has not been written in vain. I look forward to a response in the future.

N.B*

In the words of the whole air soft community 'Save our Sport'!

Yours sincerely, Mark Yates.

The above is a letter to my MP John Spellar. GIJOE I'm not sure who your's is in Yardley so have a look here to find your local MP. Carver I suggest you do the same if you haven't already. God I'm gonna get so Pissed if my M16 doesn't get here!

Copying and pasting from MS word got garbled but it liked the letter so don't worry.

So, let's get this straight, the government thinks that by increasing state control and civil dissatisfaction will help decrease, rather than increase, the chance of Gun Crime?

Aparently they don't know if it's going to happen yet. I heard it from a website which I was looking at air rifles. The polocy said: "After 1st of october you will only be able to buy transparent bb guns". It might only be in scotland though because I was looking at airsoftscotland.com. I'll try and get a video of my bb gun. Here's the link to which I bought my klashnikov: Click here

lo folks,

Yeah, from what ive understood from the little info we've been fed over the last 2 years is that were going to be licenced. A bit like owning a real gun our RIF (Realistic Imitation Firearm) will have to be licenced and we shall have to carry the certificates on us with the guns. There will be a set list of things we can and cant do with our guns which is being disscussed between the Airsoft Council and the Govenmnet. Also, and unsuprisngly, becuase the governement couldnt get their way with an outright ban the licence will be used to price us out of the game. To be honest im half expecting the government to say stuff us and raid everyone whos known to them with a RIF. The morning newspapers reading "massive countrywide gun ring smashed - 325 arrests" It will also leave us in the possition of what to do with the guns. We will be arrested if we try to hand them in at the police station and arrested if we try to destroy them. its gunna be an awkward time for us airsofters...

I dunno, seperatism sounds like a pretty good solution to me... I mean, I would quite like to make Birmingham the Capital... I mean, open rebellion is always a good idea, right?

Until they bring in the armed forces... Jan 30, 1972 for example.

Sad thing... as are the "miscases" of airsoft. Just fooling around. Doesn't banning airsoft guns also mean that the people misusing them might also be couraged to maybe get a real firearm?

GIJOE... 1600 rounds per minute? Doesn't that put one helluva stress on the mechanics? And well... if it's shooting ball bearings out to 200ft ('bout twice the normal max effective range, given especially muzzle velocity), are you even allowed to use it anywhere? Sounds like a fully automatic pellet gun. "Working parts replaced by electric ones", does that mean it has a MOSFET or something? It's kinda hard to fire an AEG without a cylinder, unless it's a gauss gun that is. Plus the choise of BBs is determined rougly by your needs and the muzzle energy of the gun. The more fps in stock form, the heavier the ammunition. Energy doesn't change, after all.

Plus I doubt that any AEG (with single barrel) shoots at 3000 rounds per minute... that'd just expose the parts to unneeded stress. Seen few AS gatlings though - atleast one Finnish guy actually has one. Looks mean with Terminator set. tongue.gif

*drools*

IF I can find a way round my parents who have clammed up on me due to the ban I would have a nice WGC Custom M4 or M16 with a conversion kit to turn the one I bought into the other one IE M16 - M4 and vice versa. I'd also have between 4 - 20 magazines an aimpoint replica on 30mm rings made by G&P a Vert' grip and RIS Pannels and to top it off a bespoke wooden carry case with foam cut outs made by me... God damn the stupid British Government that rules us!

@HH: Been there done that voted, written, met, chatted, marched, played ... our team has done as much as we could to get the Yeovil teams voices heard. I believe we even invited our local MP to come play a game with us smile.gif Also Been to London as well smile.gif

Yes you will be able to own one but what we need to do is get in touch with local police or firearms and find out about the licensing. As the law comes into force in 3 weeks you would rather find out now that u need to apply for the license than from the arresting C019 officer at 5.30am on October 1st. Its serious too becuase RIFs are being moved up a class to class 1 firearms - like real guns - so you will be subject to the same punishments too!

Unfortunately i can almost guarantee that the license costs will be extortionate and as im moving into a flat with in the month there is no way im going to be able to afford it. Which is exactly where most airsofters under the age of 30 will be ... right where the government wants them too...sucks

...you're mad.

20 mags, happy ferrying them around! I'm doing well with the 4 atm... each offers few secs of full auto, and that's not the usual case anyways. Plus I (will) carry a mag loader around.
