I'm currently in love with GTA San Andreas again.
Started to play last week, during my holiday and now can't stop. I'm already in the third city of the hughe island and doing jobs for the Mafia. I guess it has one of the most intensive stories, even as good as the OFP story. I really like how the different character are displayed and the like. You get to know many people and their traits and faits. PS: Never had that much fun cruising with the chopper through the country! -------------------- Former "Uber"-Administrator.

Just finished career mode in NFS: Carbon, having mixed feelings about it, it's almost identical to last 2-3 releases of the game, but I play them anyways, sort of tradition. I wish they would make something like NFS4: High Stakes.
Graphics-wise, the game is superb, but it doesn't look convincing, at least to me. Motion blur is awful and I turned it off, it really ruins the feel. Since EA is going with the "game-color-coding", MW had orange tint, this one has a purpleish feel to it. Also, it's filled with disco-like features, Scout people in your crew emit two pink-purple lines behind them, Drafters have some kind of blue draft area behind them, most of the menus have some kind of disco lines going around. Not really impressed, but hey, it's EA. Toyota Supra I finished the career with: |

I didn't even know this is already released. Or did you play the console version?
But you're right, since NFS Underground the games are most likely the same: Tune up your car, get upgrades for winning races etc. My favourite NFS part is still NFS: Porsche. High detailed damage model, you could upgrade your car aswell but no nonsense style tuning, no real part chaning in the engine etc. And at least, Porsche a dream of every German. Took 2 pictures in GTA, that's him CJ, Carl Johnson. CJ with SPAS12 CJ on Freeway chopper, look-a-like Schwarzenegger in black -------------------- Former "Uber"-Administrator.

My favourite NFS part is still NFS: Porsche. I liked Porsche too, I especially enjoyed speeding down autobahn in a 911. |

Yes, nothing is better than speeding with an 911 Turbo. I sat in one in reality, not as driver but the feeling was great aswell. Damn, it's a shame it doesn't run properly on WinXP systems (tried it once).

Damn, it's a shame it doesn't run properly on WinXP systems (tried it once). Works fine, you just need a patch. [This one]. You need the 3.5 update to be installed (I think it's an unofficial update). After applying it the game worked perfectly. -------------------- |

Thank you very much John, didn't know such a patch exists! Finally I'm able to play NFS Porsche again. 911, I'm coming!

I started playing IL-2 again (+ all addons --> Forgotten Battles/Aces Expansion Pack/Pacific Fighters). Just awesome, this game. The physics in this game rock and the cockpits too... only the missions are a bit boring sometimes because you have to fly very far to reach your mission objective

I did never hit anything with bombs and my joystick was really f***ed up, I couldn't win any dogfight. -------------------- Former "Uber"-Administrator.

As i said, its really hard, but if you get used to it, its "easy". You jsut have to practice throwing bombs in editor... and of course you need a good joystick

there is nothing like a good ol' B-26 True but I favour the B-29. Talking about the B-29, the only thing I'm missing in modern air combat simulations are nuclear weapons. Sure it's some kind sadistic but hey it's a game only. I wanna' blow stuff up and best way to do it: nukes. I always wanted to fly in 30.000 feet dropping a big bang. -------------------- Former "Uber"-Administrator.

QUOTE .and on Sydney too? Not unless they map it out Bomb Sydney....I can live with that. Having a scenario for the bombing of Darwin could be interesting -------------------- |
