Armed Assault Info Forums _ Mods _ Never modded ARMA 1 before help !

i have modded arma 2,im trying to mod arma 1 because it seems to have a more developed mod secne .i am using the the kegtys mod launcher (i cant seem to understand for some reasion).and i cant find a tutorial anywhere so i am at wits end of some little thing i am messing up on..i have the game threw steam and from what i understand u can mod threw it. can someone please give me a detailed step by step guide on how to go about doing this.i would realy like to be modding by noon please help. helpsos.gif [size="2"]

There's a step-by-step tutorial for setting up mod folders here, and using Kegety's mod manager:

For creating your own AddOns you'll want to download the tools suite from BIS:

You might also want to try some of the tutorials on BRSSEB's site, while these are designed for OFP, they do still work in ArmA:

(You won't need to concern yourself with the setting up tutorial, as the ArmA version of oxygen does this with an installer)

You can also download all vanilla game models (well... most of them anyhows) in MLOD format, which allows editing with O2:

o so i set the file up right but i now i need help with the luancher,and for some reasion my Winrar cant find the path to the file, a error comes up evrytime i try to extract it to a specified folder . i have it set for ( C:/program files (x86)/steam/steamapps/common/arma armed assault ) that should be right i don`t understand why Winrar is saying that it is not.

If it isn't unpacking you might have a corrupted archive, try downloading it again, preferably from a different source.
