To be honest I've not been to many other countries so far. Hungary, Austria and the Netherlands, that's it.
Where I absolutely want to go once in my lifetime is...

1. Iceland
2. Antarctica
3. Hongkong

Post your top three (or even more if you have to!).

You've been to Hungary, nice! I haven't been to many countries either. France, Belgium, Germany and Austria (travelled through to reach UK) and Slovakia for skiing holidays. I'm not kinda toursit guy but I would love to see:

1. Transylvania (as part of the Great- Hungary before the treaty of Trianon)
2. South-Italy or Greece (love the mediterrian climate)
3. Palestine or Lebanon
4. Scotland (to see that cheeky Brataccas)

Yep, spend two weeks to Budapest and some days to a friends place east off Nyiregyhaza. It was quite nice to do some mountainbiking in the east hungarian plains!

You see, that's what bothers me. Foreign ppl really like Hungary but the majority of Hungary prefers foreign countries. They simply don't see the beauties in this country.

I'd love to go to :

- USA : New York, Las Vegas
- Various European capitals (praque, budapest, rome, paris and more). Might do that soon when Ryanair gives away free tickets again.
- Australia
- The Alps (only went hiking/climbing once, but I really enjoyed it)
- Normandie
- Iceland
- New Zealand

Probably more but, which I will add later on

Where I'd love to go:
1 - Russia and the old Soviet block (as Jynx)
2 - Germany, France, most of Europe.
3 - Spain, to visit some people I know.
4 - Norway, Finland and then the rest of the other Scandinavia countries
5 - North & South Africa

I've not been out of the UK =[ No passport either although that said. I've been to most of the UK minus Scotland and Northern Ireland. So not that un-travelled. (Reminisces about times in Somerset and Wales)...

Places that I'd like to go in my lifetime:
  1. New Zeeland - An epic country.
  2. Germany - I've always wanted to see the country.
  3. Italy - Relatives of my family live near Monte Casino so would like to go.
  4. Hungary - Budapest has some amazing buildings.
  5. Afghanistan - Beautiful country minus the fast air and IEDs
... And to top it off a tour of the Baltic.

Been to lotsa places already (USA (Miami/South California), Belize, across every island in the Caribbean, pretty much every country in West-Europe, down to South Africa, Thailand) so I shouldn't really complain. I don't have great interest in East-Europe but Chernobyl is definitely on the wish-list. And errr... New York perhaps? smile.gif

[EDIT] Ooh, and Cuba too please. Before capitalism kicks in.

Yeap, me too. Not only because it's a desert and devastated place (quasi post apocaliptic place), it's also a city were you can see the Soviet architecture and style in all it's glory.

Lets see...

Most of USA (Midwest, Washington DC, The Big Apple, Cali and Nevada with their AFBs), UK, most of Europe (Middle, South... been to France, Sweden and Denmark), some of the old Eastern Bloc (been to Estonia, that's it), especially the already mentioned Pripyat. Fantastic place it is... there's nobody there!

Some trips I've planned on doing:
1. Going around the world via Siberia track, and then on various other means of travelling (Kind of like The Long Way Round... but with less motorcycles. Through Russia via Siberia, possibly a visit to China), then to Japan or directly to USA, a roadtrip through that, then across the Atlantic, and through Europe, and back to Finland. tongue.gif
2. Trekking El Camino Del Santiago. An old pilgrims route in Southern Spain, the path extends to few thousand kilometers at most. Planning to do about 500-750 km, 750 km being a start at The Pyrenneis. X-ray did the last 190 km IIRC.
3. Visiting El Caminito Del Rey. A partly collapsed concrete walkway of 1 meter width 300 meters above the ground level!
4. Visiting and climbing the Alps.
5. Visiting some big desert. Israel, Afghanistan and North Africa would be nice places for the trip, assuming you can avoid the violence.
6. Visiting the already-mentioned Pripyat. With lots of adventurous mind, an NBC gas mask... and lots of photo equipment.
7. Visiting Lapland. Despite living in Finland, never been even close to the place.

Oh and most mountain regions in the world. Never actually been to one but sorta love 'em, partly due to my respect to most mountain troops in world's armies (incl. the famed Gebirgsjäger), due to the landscapes, and the challenge. biggrin.gif

:\
Let me tell you that in some parts is even less than a meter, and it isn't 20 meters, big sections of the walkway are that small. I'm not saying that you shouldn't go, but prepare for an intense experience.
