Man, with all that talk of burning computer parts I can't help but think of one fine day in the year 2004 when my brother and a buddy of his came to me and wanted permission to test a new RAM bar that buddy had bought, and I was like "hey big brother, sure, please don't hit me"... they inserted the bar, plugged the thing back in, hit the power button - and ZING! Next thing I know, the motherboard emitted a trail of smoke.
Didn't work anymore after that. -------------------- |

To be honest I wasn't impressed with London. That said, capitals are overrated anyway (unless of course the capital is the only worthwhile place to visit in the whole country, like it is with Hungary and Budapest). Berlin? A shithole. Vienna? Boring. It's the so called seconds of cities which are far more appealing as far as I'm concerned...

I dunno, you could crush capitals instead of capitalism? I mean, everything's better with a bulldozer. Everything.

Just another early morning...
RIV60 was my faithful steed. Hurry up and wait... After all the hoopla our missing person strolled back to the staging area under her own power just before we were briefed. Next time I'll stay in bed. -------------------- |

Ace pics witty! Here in Uk all our specialist emergency services like cave, mountain, sea rescue are mostly voluntary and charity based. Now they're telling these guys to feck off and replacing them with hired companies form the states and the EU. Basically means now you have to be able to make large donations or dead before they start looking
Is there anything you cant privatise? lol Old pics but this is pretty much me this morning -------------------- |

What the- sand storms in Scotland?!
Ah, well, look what Carver said about the privatisation, that wouldn't happen in... CUBA! That is a fair thing to say considering they hardly allow private property at all... everyone is to be equally poor.

Well, actually in Cuba most people are poor, a friend of mine went there a few months ago and told me that, while everyone has work, the money isn't just enogh. They have the basic things covered, like health, education and food, but stop counting there.
Then again, as pMASTER said, everybody is poor, but everybody lives with their basic needs, more than I can said from a lot of European Countries, and I raise the bet! What could have been of Cuba without that ilegal embargo? Which is still in place even after the UN voted against it (Although, the UN isn't a very intimidating force to be honest). |

Oh please. You can't honestly mean to imply Cuba is an economic trainwreck only because of that fricking embargo. Besides, the US of A is very free to impose embargos on which ever receiving end they could possibly come up with. As is every other state. Isn't Argentina considering to place an embargo on Ghana right now for detaining that training ship? There you have it.
You talking about Cuba or the Uk? Cuba is the place were dissidents get locked up and starve to death in prisons. Also, I think the British average monthly income is somewhat above 50 dollars. Admittely I don't know what the Pound Sterling is at these days, though.

haha no in the uk dissidents get protected by human rights whilst OAPs who cant afford their tv license get sent down for 3 months and the average British wage is what ever the new benefit cap is lol. Cuba is in the same boat as Russia. A state left to financially fend for itself taken over by powerful mobster thugs while the population become self sufficient. What more would you expect for helping to hold the world to nuclear ransom?

Capitalism undoubtedly is a flawed idea and so is democracy but undoubtedly as well they're the best our flawed species can come up with since they have given more people a certain degree of protection, freedom and wealth than anything else there is or ever has been. And that's not a matter of opinion; it's a matter of fact.
Like it or not, but even your ability to like it or not at this board you owe to capitalism. Those who claimed to speak in the name of the masses and that all people would be equal under their rule managed to kill even more innocent people than the Nazis and that. really. is. a. noteworthy. achievement. And a most telling one. In that light I'd rather suffer the little daily injustices of our system than to trade them in for the unkeepable and always-broken promises and injustices-to-be of Socialism. -------------------- |

And that's not a matter of opinion; it's a matter of fact. That's largely because democratic countries have made every effort to quash any form of alternative. All we really know is that it's better than a monarchy -------------------- The Rules - Nothing too complicated, follow these and we'll have no problems.

Where democracy reigns, it took the power from dictators, absolutist monarchs and authoritarian regimes. I trust you're aware of that.
