Steve Fossett "missing", (The cover up) Options

For those that dont know read here first!

OK as one of the first people on the net to do this (yay) id like to put forward my theory on his disappearance. (See fig 1 below)

Fossett is a married man who is known for is record breaking round the world trips and exploits. He is an "up for it" type of guy who would jump on the chance to do something amazing and special.
I say he was approached by Government people who showed him a plane or technology that needed a pilot . It would involve him either faking his death or at least disappearing for a few days. He said yes.

He was flying a blue and white single-engine Citabria plane (Wiki) as shown in fig 1. It has a range of 5 - 600 miles (8 - 900km).
Yerington is a small remote private airstrip on the edge of the Nevada desert. The range of the plane is enough to get him anywhere inside the red circle - including Edwards AFB and Area 51. He didn't file a flight pan which is a federal crime punishable with prison.

Hes at Area 51 test flying a new plane or technology that will one day see him listed as the first user. He gets world media spotlight again for a few days whilst hes missing and if it all goes wrong they can just say he died when the plane crashed.

Its too obvious.

After WW2 at least 20 U-Boats strangely dissappeared along with a large number of high ranking SS Officers, a few weeks later almost every nation on earth had a sudden interest in the Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf, which, for those of your who don't know, is the German section of the South Pole. There have been numerious reports during WW2 of a German Craft which resembled a dish and, indeed the first "offical" UFO sightings coincided with the Second World war. Combine this with the fact that there's a strange anomaly above the Shelf in Google Earth and that in the Military seems to deny all evidence of UFOs, it seems all to obvious that...

UFOs are Nazi spaceships!


I mean, come on, I'd thought you of all people would know better than to have a shot at conspricy theorys.

Ok more evidence

The search - suspended for the night - is due to resume at 1400 BST, officials say.

Why? They trying to tell us that their not equipped for searching at night? Or were they halted becuase the government didnt want them seeing something they shouldnt at that time of night over the Nevada Ranges.

the only clue rescuers have as to his whereabouts is that he was intending to fly south.

Mr Gregor said the Air Force's Rescue Co-ordination Center in Langley, Virginia, was overseeing the search.

What other department is at Langley, Virginia? C.I.A. - Central Intelligence Agency

Officials say Mr Fossett's plane was fitted with an electronic beacon which can be picked up by satellites, but have refused to comment on whether any signal has been located.

Why the hell would they refuse? Its a vital part of the search / investigation. If its not working then hes either dissabled it or crashed hard. If it is working then its a simple case of tracking it down and that would only take a few hours. What have they got to hide?

lets look at the events so far:

He takes off in the evening to "go look for dry lake beds". Having flown since he was a kid he "forgets" to file a flight plan. He says hes heading "south" (where Area 51 and Edwards AFB is). He goes missing. The plane hes flying would have allowed him plenty of fuel to fly across the Nevada desert and back. The search, in the richest country in the world, is called off over night after only 4 hours becuase "it got dark". The USAF is helping in the search in the same set of buildings that just so happens to house the CIA. Why is the USAF involved? hes not military. When asked about the vital key to finding him - the beacon - the police clam up and get deffensive, refusing to comment on it.

Too many mistakes and coincidences for my liking.

Anyone noticed how the BBC and Sky News has completely dropped the story? Its even taken a back page on FOXnews... is the media being hushed?

Mabye he is just dissapearing for the media attention. It has worked.
