That sucks! I missed the post about Inv44. Same, that was the first mod I ever used
What is actually needed to convert something to ArmA? A conversion of file types? -------------------- |

If only it were that easy. I am not entirely sure yet since BIS hasn't released their tools, or all information yet, but normal mapping certainly needs to be added, as well as specular mapping and possibly other things. Also if a vehicle has a dummy MG in OFP, I am sure people would like it to be functional in ArmA
And then there are possible changes/additions in selections and config. -------------------- |

lo dudes,
INV44 d.o.a? killed by some pranksters who a few and far between? I would have thought the once greatest mod OFP1 had ever seen was stronger than that? surely you can kill the mod but you cant kill the dream? ... Anyhow if you do decide to pull the trigger at least give out some of the great stuff you did for the community. The grass for example, the buildings and railway (?). You deserve to see some of the years of hard work you and many others put into the mod get used and build the credit it deserves My two cents. In other news HDS Mod will be here for ArmA. We got ideas baking and a possible team colaboration project but thats under wraps for now enjoy, carver -------------------- |

lo dudes, [i]INV44 d.o.a? killed by some pranksters who a few and far between? I would have thought the once greatest mod OFP1 had ever seen was stronger than that? surely you can kill the mod but you cant kill the dream? ... Anyhow if you do decide to pull the trigger at least give out some of the great stuff you did for the community. The grass for example, the buildings and railway (?). You deserve to see some of the years of hard work you and many others put into the mod get used and build the credit it deserves My two cents. I have gotten the following quote (from Final Fantasy VII) from someone who tested the 6+ months old files (still the most current ones): "What you remember is an illusion. What I have shown you is reality" Pretty much sums up the mess that exists, we started in 2004, and the stuff hasn't changed much since then. There wasn't much work on the mod getting done during large parts of 2005 and most of 2006. Don't confuse cleverly taken screenshots with reality. It is too much of a mess to be released. Releasing would probably make us even more hated and laughed at. It's not uncommon for alot of good people to suffer from the actions of only a few bad ones. All of the stuff like the grass and especially the railroads were work in progress, and were removed or abandoned (the grass is very unoptimized, buildings are all from BIS). We got promise upon promise from people that they would fix all of these issues, but when push came to shove (IIRC), the people vanished. -------------------- |

So there should be doubts on any upcoming releases from Inv-44? Yes, regarding the Phase 1 "As is" release (abandonware). I hope to resurrect the mod for ArmA with Phase 2 (but need people to help me/us). -------------------- |

Anyway, good luck with restarting the Mod in ArmA -------------------- "Wer A sagt, der muß nicht B sagen. Er kann auch erkennen, daß A falsch war." - Berthold Brecht |

At the mods: sorry for posting something non-ArmA related, but as it's related to this topic (or the way it turned out anyway):
We've decided to release Invasion 1944 - Phase 1: Oosterbeek "As Is" (which means no bugfixing and little in the way of user-support). You can find it [here]. I'm sure the mods would appreciate it if any discussing was done on the OFP.info boards rather then here. -------------------- |

I think it was that he clicked "add reply" 3 times because of a shoddy connection or something rather than he was really spamming (happened to me too)
