Are you a part of the CWM team? from your first post I'm guessing you are not. As I stated previously they are just pictures and therefore belong in the thread for pictures not warranting a thread all for themselves...

He was just stating his opinion, you jumped the gun abit their, well if this is the CWM thread i would like to see some information about the Mod and what you will be releasing etc, a few nice screenshots although nice as they are arent enough for a dedicated mod thread.

This thread isn't about the progress of the Chechenya War Mod. It doesn't show the mods progress and as you are not a part of the team David, I'm pretty sure that you can't answer mod specific questions.

HH is correct, this should be posted in the Combat Photography thread. Thats why I'm closing this thread, but if you can convince a Chechenyian (?) War mod member to inform us about the mods progress the thread will be opened again.

(Also a few of the pictures are over 150kb...if you repost these pics in the Combat Photography (you should do that, the screens are really good) thread, don't forget to resize them..or you'll get PRed)

Yeah, I have a question. Will you give your units any other chestrigs than chicoms? I haven't seen even a single photo of a modern-day russian soldier with a chicom chestrig... (Unless the bottom two pictures featuring the OMON units are out-dated, as the picture above looks like them, but with a different vest...) Also, how much progress is there overall? When do you plan to release anything?

Hi Relikki

Yeah, that's a problem we had : make the OMON different than the other models. The mod is as close as possible to the reality but in some rare cases we had to deal with it. Those 2 OMON models with chicom are supposed to be more "police / guard" units than combat units, just like nobody is wearing a beret on the frontlines. Though, the others urban units are all wearing the russian "tarzan". Also, the chicom is now black on these 2 models. We have 2 russian chechnya war veterans in the team to help us being as realistic as possible and this chicom is not a big deal for them since it's turned into a black one. I totaly understand your question because we talked about that for a long time before taking this decision. To my opinion, it's the best of the worst solution.


The mod progress is about 90-95% now for the first release (MVD units, weapons, air and vehicles), other releases will come later with other units.

I can say that these first units could be released in the next 10 days, need to fix some details. Then we'll start to work on the next units.

Dude, not being funny but most mods would just post these in either the ArmA.Info or BI photo threads, with the comment "Addons: CWM - Unreleased".
Or something like that.
