Ok this might be out of subject but all the ArmA fans are at this thread. I am in a BF2 clan thats says ArmA straight up sucks . This is our clan link http://www.devilsrejects.us/ . I'm the only ArmA fan in my clan. If you would like please start a thread at our clan site pointing out all of the pro's and cons of ArmA. I want my clan to start playing ArmA along with BF2 but they said the Hell with ArmA they are going for Quake Wars. Last night most of my clan played the demo for ArmA and still said it looked like crap and played like crap. I did point out to them that this is just the demo and that the game may have more to it but I'm not sure of that.
This is a thread I started at our site http://www.devilsrejects.us/modules.php?na...pic&p=37#37 . Let the flame wars begin -------------------- rl=http://profile.xfire.com/jimn][/url]

very sorry to hear that, but i guess ArmA isnt the fast paced action genre that people who play BF2 are after. Whatever floats your boat really. Personally i feel ArmA has a lot to offer but to some people maybe its just too open ended. To me the less actual time spent fighting the better, makes it more realistic and more cool. Actually trying to preserve your life, attempting to call air support etc.. cant beat it.

No, God just hates the Germans
I played BF1942 and Vietnam, and it wasn't bad. I did delete them after about a week though to continue what I've been playing for the last 6 years: OFP (Same goes for ArmA) If they don't like the gameplay of ArmA than I see no point in trying to convince them otherwise, thank God not everybody likes ArmA, otherwise they'd all start playing ArmA with their idea of "realism" and "tactics"... A Pro of OFP/ArmA that is enough for me to keep playing it: In CTI you can plan a strategy, while BF2 goes no further than tactics (strategy being the master plan while tactics involve the actual execution of a battleplan, chopping up the battlefield into smaller units) A little hard to explain... -------------------- |

Guess you'll just have to wait till the day their testicles finally decide to descend into their scrotums.
Pros: -guns, tanks and shit -not utter crap Cons: -very high requirements (such as working brains, attention span longer than two and a half seconds etc) |

lo folks,
BF2 is old rubbish now. No one plays it anymore apart from the lame clans that cant handle the newer games. Probably better that they go for Quake Wars. They wouldnt be able to handle ArmA. Comeing onto the forum just to get us to flame your friends. Im sorry but im not going to be a pupput monkey of some disgruntled BF2 player whos clan thinks his ideas bad. cheers carver -------------------- |

In BF2 you can only have a basic outline of what your going to do. In ArmA you can use real military tactics and they actually are effective, wheres in BF2 you would just be cut down, run over or BFG'd. -------------------- |

well if they gonna go straight to QW then im not surprised they dont like ArmA. I think they will stick to arcade games and there is no point in telling them anything.
