Evening people...
Some of us have started playing Jungle Fever Redux of late on Hawkin's server usually lasting into the wee hours of the morning GMT. So far we've had from here at least Me, Blackscorpion, JynX and Pulverizer playing at one time with other players such as JESPER, Reaver and Hawkins himself. If any of you here who still play Operation Flashpoint are interested in playing with us Send one of the above (in bold) a pm. We play at various times so at the moment there is no set routine to play to we all have things to do so can't all play at the same time... We've had some 'fun' doing RECCE and Air Assault missions with about 4 - 7 people. The server itself is limited to 25 people. If any of you want to play we SHOULD be playing at the weekend most likely on Sunday. Players that might / should be on from here at least. -Rellikki -JynX -Me -Blackscorpion -Pulverizer We use TS so ask one of us about it before the game. --------- Jungle Fever can be obtained here and here There are a few required addons for the missions, they can be downloaded here Regards Mark. -------------------- -------------------- Heed my words or risk being beaten with a stick then fed to my associate D@V£ The Rules - Most places have rules, these are ours Read them! Oi, you sounding all that fancy, Mark...
Anyways, as Mark said, we play on Hawkins' server. The server itself is located in Oulu, Finland and as specified is limited to 25 players. We've had some server issues (not enough RAM apparently so the server spontaneously shuts itself down) recently, partly due to us having up to 7-9 players. However, with some work on the addon side and the usage of -nomap, the issues have largely been solved. The TS server we've used is Pulverizer's, and is also in Finland. You'll get the address and password ingame - if we don't shout it at you, feel free to ask. The most used addons are probably the CSJ stuff, but download them all just in case, if you can. The mod itself is around 140 MB of a download, and with the addons and stuff should consume roughly 1 GB of your HD space when set to the mod folder, which should be labeled @JF. For those who yet missed the idea, it's pretty much all Vietnam stuff, so feel free to add anything you want for your own missions. The mod uses custom face mapping (Llauma 1), so it's recommended to make a custom profile for JF if you tend to use a custom face. Benoist, as I said the server is in Finland, but we've had few players from the USA with fairly playable pings; SeanTate has acted as a pilot more than few times. For those in Europe, your pings shouldn't go much over 100. -------------------- Hakkaa päälle Pohjan poika!

Yeah, but i'm from South America :\
I use to play ArmA in Swiss server without problems, but I have never play OFP in MP (exept in LAN or Argentine servers) and i think that OFP had/has problems with connections. Also, OFP has JiP? |

nope OFP does not have Join in Progress so the games tend to be a tad more organised at briefing imho. (well most of the time sorting peoples load outs has gotten hectic before:P)
I play on a wireless connection when I'm playing and I get little to no lag and rarely desync with a ping of 120-160 which is my average for a US server. (my location is further north west than mark so ping is slightly higher in general.) OFP is relatively good for connections, I could play smoothly online (Andersen DM of about 20 people) using ISDN, only really started getting a bit "jumpy" when I had to move to 56k for a month (That was pure hell for some one addicted to DLing every OFP addon he could find) -------------------- Never before in the history of man, was so much buggered up by so few.

Is that the most up-to-date version? We had a lot of error messages while playing it in MP with my friends so was wondering...

It's the most up to date one, on the BI forum thread the issue is raised and AFAIK was resolved, but don't quote me on that.

Errors about the tracers when shooting with specific weapons, some model errors, etc. Hmm I haven't had any errors since I installed it. Check out the thread at the BI forums see if Hawkins can help. -------------------- -------------------- Heed my words or risk being beaten with a stick then fed to my associate D@V£ The Rules - Most places have rules, these are ours Read them! Hello there lads. Rellikki, sounds like your install is either corrupt or some addons are missing for some reason. Could you be more specific with the error descriptions? The tracer error pops up in mission Valley of Death because of a mission editing error. If you are getting errors about models, then there has to be something that went wrong during the unzip progress. Do you use any other mods or addons together with JF, not counting the needed addons for the server? It might also be that some addon is causing a conflict or that you are missing some of the addons needed for the server.
I hope you get it working, if not, post here and we'll get it working. |

Well the problem after all was a corrupt install with one of our guys. The game even kept crashing for him and he kept getting errors, which we, the others also saw... It's fixed now after he redownloaded the mod. Thanks anyway.

Whenever we can be arsed, for me I'm limited to whenever I can be assed on the days I'm at my parents house.
In general: the evenings one of the last games we played (turned out to be a long hike, bloody general infantry patrols... Suicide Bunny Elite (Sierra Bravo 3) & Guests on Operations in the A Shau Valley, Vietnam L-R: Pulverizer (Guest), "that marine" as HH called him dinnae know his name (guest), JynX/ToadBall (SB3), BlackScorpion (SB3), Mark/Helping_Hand (SB3) -------------------- Never before in the history of man, was so much buggered up by so few.

Ok people, I have my OFP in my brand new HD. I'm downloading the mod, when do you usually play? Varying... I use OFPWatch ocasionally to check the server manning. Most games seem to take place between 1800-0400 Finland local, which is +2/3 GMT. Peak is usually around 7-10 pm. 1403 now (2 pm) here atm, and shows that you posted your message above at 0354 (4 am). Calculate the difference from that. -------------------- Hakkaa päälle Pohjan poika!
