okay, so ive just bought myself a new computer and have had to reinstall all of my games on it, when i came across my old OFP GOTY edition i thought " hey, why not? " well, it's now installed and played smoothly, but theres one problem, all of the textures (on buildings etc) are all blury and/or plain, can anyone help me? My computer specs are:

MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i7 950 @ 3.07GHz 41 °C
Bloomfield 45nm Technology
RAM
6.0GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 539MHz (7-7-7-20)
Motherboard
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. X58A-UD3R (Socket 1366)
Graphics
VX2250 SERIES @ 1920x1080
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
Hard Drives
488GB Seagate ST3500418AS ATA Device (Unknown Interface) 31 °C
Optical Drives
ATAPI iHAS324 B ATA Device
Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio

I run it on the following settings: 1920x1080x16
: 60Hz refresh rate
:high terrain
:highest object detail
:lowest view distance
Thanks in advance!

Hey dude,
From what i remember it was about getting the balance right between the settings so that textures would render properly. Try fiddling around with the draw distances, shadows etc i cant remember what settings you could actually play with but give it a go. Also i remember OFP came with a settings adjuster in the start menu. Try altering that too.
Good luck! let us know how it goes salut.gif

In your OFP folder, open "FlashpointPreferences.exe". In the window that pops up, click on "Advanced", go to the "Textures" tab. Try settings like this:

1024 x 1024
1024 x 1024
1024 x 1024
256 x 256
2 x

Ah yes! thankyou very much! everything looks as it should and plays great...
At night things are still a bit strange looking, but im not sure if this is just what OFP looks like! (Used to playing Arma2)
Ill keep tweaking and let you know how things go...

Thanks alot,
Lyaoz!

okay, after a bit of testing i have determined that at night it looks very strange, by strange i mean that everything has a dark green tinge and everything looks like its been super contrasted, in other words where it should be pitch-black its dark green and as the lightness rises so does the shade of green... im hoping to get up a few screenshots to fully explain what im talking about...
Ontop of this when a vehicle is destroyed and the plume of smoke appears, it looks normal, but as it starts to disspate it turns a light purple...
any theories?

Thats BI-default night view. Look for Kegety's DXDLL File, which - as far as I can remember - change this colour settings to normal colours in one of the plenty setup-options. Here is the link to the first version (try to search for a newer one):

DXDLL it's worth downloading anyway!! thumbsup.gif

AFAIK, this is caused by 16-bit colours, if you switch your resolution from something like "xxxx*xxx*16" to "xxxx*xxx*32", it should make night-time look a lot prettier! biggrin.gif

Also, it looked normal on my old LCD screen. Then when I switched to a TFT, the green shade appeared. That was before I changed any settings.
