Armed Assault Info Forums _ Mission Editing & Scripting _ Team Mates and speeds

After getting 1/2 way threw my 1st mission. I fount out that my team mates have a hard time keeping up with me. I tried adjusting thw wp speed and it doesn't seem to do any thing. Any one have some ides about that.

The other thing is that if I issue orders to them, They won't follow me any more. The stop right where I ordered them too and won't keep following me. I see that happens in small battles. Any ideas or thoughts on this too.

The AI tends to prioritize taking cover in combat situations over moving forwards (or backwards, if that's your thing!), you can try telling them to enter "safe" behaviour (not recommended in combat situations), which will stop them from taking cover. Or if you've previously given an "engage at will" command, give a "disengage" command.

If you're in the editor, try not to have too many waypoints in urban areas, as it tends to confuse the AI (they see the world differently, so if there's lots of paths around they can get stuck), when it doubt, use http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/doMove, as it overrides all other behaviour. (it's also a lot more precise than waypoints)

Then I can use a _unit1 domove getpos _player; so that should get them back following me again, Right. Well do you have any ideas on this.

When there engaged and not engaged with enemy troops. What would I do, setup a trigger to run ever so offen to have them join up with me or I could add a addaction to the player that can tell the player to orders it's troops back to follow him, I'm not sure. What do you think.

I wouldn't recommend something like that, it'll undoubtedly cause problems further down the line. If you give teams enough time to regroup after encounters then they should be fine.

Ok, well that's just it, They don't. They stay in one place and never move unless I tell them too. So I could use some idea or too.
