I have never heard of this. It sounds interesting. We will be on a smaller scale than these guys which will be a lot more manageable.

Good ideas.
The companies arent technically companies. They will consist of about 4 or 5 people. Really we are focusing on battalion level operations. Battalions will consist of about 45-50 people. Tack on the aviation, armor, recon, and command. You will get the optimal size. Remember though, these will be 10-12 hour battledays at least once a week, so you will get a lot of people coming and going through the day. So there needs to be enough people in each battalion to accommodate for that. Hypothetically say you can put 50 people on each side (and remember, this doesn’t include bots, which we plan on using), you need to maintain a constant 30 or so people in the line companies, 10 or so in the armor troops, 5 in the air and 2 or 3 for command. It is fairly certain that we might have more people ready to play than can actually fit on a server. In which case they can partake in one of our many training programs or just practice on or practice servers. Keep in mind that we will have multiple servers to allow for this. Does that sort of make sense? -------------------- |

I don't see how this could be legal (anything made with tools released by BIS (including the mission editor) cannot be sold, you agreed with this when you installed it), i PMed Placebo and until i recieve an answer this stays locked.

are you going to be charging people to use this? beucase if you do i think there will be a lack of people willing to pay to play. Especially when OFP CTI teams will be working on similar 24 hour online battles that will be free of charge.

So all CTI teams are free? In other words noone pays to be on the team itelf whether it be a donation or subscription based system?
We are not your typical tournament. Imagine mergine the tournament and the teams together. Thats what we do. Our tournament is not a ladder system. It goes well beyond that. -------------------- |

Got to agree with Biggles there. Does indeed sound great, but I can't imagine many people are prepared to pay to play what is effectivley CTI on a server with lots of regs. The concept of pay to play does make sense, because the people who play will obviously be hardcore and willing to play properly as a team etc, I just can't see many people actually doing it Of course, I take it all back if you do get lots of people with ya - good luck to you |

I ask that you reserve judgements until you experience what we are offering. There is a lot more that will go on besides what you will see in the above text. Sign up and find out if you want or please ask questions.

Hmm , I was wondering: How are you going to get enough people to realise this idea? I really doubt people want to pay a montly fee.

Lo folks,
I've just joined up to take a look at this new craze on offer. It doesnt look to bad. They have just reached 100 members and it looks like its going to take off. The forums can be a bit tricky to navigate but by the sounds of things its going to be changed. Looking at how its working out i expect its going to be another sucsesful corner of the community. You'll either be involved and enjoy using it or not even knoe it existed. Alot like the gamespy saga was several years ago. Looks hopeful and im gunna give it a shot. lol at he end of the day we can go on there as veterans and pawn all the noobs who are on their ATM askin what is OFP and where can they buy it lol. cheers carver -------------------- |

LOL,
Thanks Elliot. You are correct. The forums are a bit tricky right now since we are still working on our website. Hopefully it will be more intuitive after that. I appreciate your kind words on the inevitable success and I hope you are correct . Also, there are many people who are not quite familiar with the way OFP and ArmA plays. We could use people like you to help with the community. There are several of us who have played since Beta of ArmA so do think it will be a total cakewalk Anywho, thanks for joining and let me know if you have any questions or comments. -------------------- |

this may yet be a great mod. maybe ive been looking at this the wrong way. Im sure Arma is going to bring alot of other gamers who arnt 'team players' . perhaps paying for this ensures a dedicated player base, and teamplay. maybe ill re-concider investing into this. first i need to get ArmA
just looked at prices and actually its not at all expencive if you compare it too MMOG. $8.99 come to about £5 a month. are you going to offer a years subscription? -------------------- |

Well, we probably won’t offer year subscriptions. We might bring back the 6 month subscription though.
Also our tournament is definitely geared around team play. In fact it is the cornerstone of the tournament. We just make it easier for people who don’t currently belong to clans play in an organized and massive environment. Clans can benefit from this system as well too. Thanks for your interest. You will see our service grow drastically in the next couple months. Get in soon so you can influence the direction of your army . -------------------- |
