Do you have Both DX10 and DX9?
They're independent of each other, as far as I know, ArmA does not support DX10. -------------------- The Rules - Nothing too complicated, follow these and we'll have no problems.

You don't need to remove it.
DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 will operate independent of each other. All you need to do is install DirectX 9. Assuming that is the problem. -------------------- The Rules - Nothing too complicated, follow these and we'll have no problems.

Lol since it's impossible that he has got both DX9 and DX10 installed together, there are programs over the web which helps you to uninstall DirectX I should slap you... Unlike previous versions of DirectX, DX10 isn't built directly over the previous versions (and with good reason), hence, there are several libraries and bits in DX9 that ARE NOT present in DX10. Hence, any game programmed using DX9 that reference these libraries will throw a hissy fit and give you errors like: QUOTE error compiling pixel shader PSSpecularAlpha Vista should come with the latest Versions of both DX9 and DX10. Unfortunately, I know through personal experience this isn't always the case. DirectX installers are really smart, and won't backdate libraries. I also know this through experience, as I've recently come to find out Vista has no support for DX7 games in Visual Basic. Seeing as you clearly haven't paid attention to what I said in my previous two posts, and I feel it necessary to educate you; DirectX 9 can be safely installed on a computer running DirectX 10. This WILL NOT affect the installation of DirectX 10. (My most sincere apologies if this isn't a DirectX related issue ) This post has been edited by Helping Hand: Mar 27 2009, 22:47
Reason for edit: Was there really any need Davey?

Sorry if this is a completely retarded question but: where can i find dx libraries?
because if i try the DX9c redist version it immediatly is finished e.g. i click on install and it immediatly gives me the finished screen? |

Btw, Dave, maybe you are drunk or something... but DirectX 9.0 and DirectX 10 can't be present together on the same PC. it's illogical -------------------- Visit my blog about Poker at Blogspot.com

Ok heres what ive done... i downloaded the march redist (the 93Mb one) let it fully install, restarted and guess what... Nothing changes same error sh*t as in the first post.
but a few people may say its a vista problem well i got an answer for that question: wrong! i just so happen to have XP on the same computer and same probs over at that camp. so i hope people can think of some extra options to get my game running. (sorry if i sound cranky, but i have been screwing around with the game the whole day and im starting to lose ma patience(not your guys fault i know)) |

er... try to download the latest drivers from NVIDIA, or if there are none, install the one you have, again...
