Altho now a days alot of countries don't bother with the underside since radar makes cameo mostly useless
That's not right.
Underside is painted clear to become less visible to the super "eyeball mk. I" radar
Manpads are a real threat in the current conflicts, and this weapon should be employed (and aimed) by a man that first should use he's eyes.
The ADF doesn't usually bother with that, altho the upgrade to the S-70 that they are bringing in paints the bottom of it black
In regards to the talk on camo I think that it is one of those things where both of the above opinions are right from a certain point of view.
For example in the real world the camo scheme on an aircraft whether it is fixed wing or rotary wing is really only of any use against the pilots of other aircraft because they are either looking down on or across at or up at each other when using "Mark 1 Eyeball" to spot a target.
When looking up at an aircraft from the point of view of a soldier on the ground camo is kinda pointless for 2 very obvious reasons in regards to using "Mark 1 Eyeball" to spot the target. Firstly is the amount of noise all aircraft make that gives you plenty of advanced warning of speed and direction while secondly is that aircraft will take on a shadowy silhouette when looking up at them (just look up when you hear a civilian aircraft flying over.
Now the rules for radar are very different. RAM or Radar Absorbent Materials such as paint or composites either absorb radar waves or deflect them at oblique angles thus reducing the RCS or Radar Cross Section of an aircraft on radar.
Its difficult to properly describe all this really because I do not fully understand how radar systems function because I have seen rather amusing and contradictory reports of simulated airial engagements where for example a lower tech aircraft has defeated a more advanced aircraft that has all the fancy "low observability" features. For example the number of times in simulated dogfights that American F/A-18F Super Hornets have engaged and defeated F-22A Raptors!
Although I do believe rotary wing aircraft such as helicopters to be death traps on the modern battlefield. Why you ask? Because the Battle of Mogadishu aka Black Hawk Down incident clearly showed that no matter how advanced your helicopter is, a determined opponent will bring them down with a combination of old fashioned unguided RPG's and small arms fire. Its a loud slow moving flying target that just begs to be shot down and yet it is the corner stone of modern battlefield operations... go figure hey?

Totally looks awsome cant wait to play it cause i hate the cities in Sahrani too small cant get lost in them but Somalia is it Mogadishu (cant spell it) you should make the hole map basicly just one huge giant city so people can easily get lost inside the city like down back allys and markets and stuff

I've got a mate who was in 1RAR when they were deployed to Somalia as part of the UN Peace Keeping Forces, his unit was stationed at Baidoa which was not far from Mogadishu. I better get to my main question before some anal retentive individual tells me off for being off topic lol...

Remember the Mog both in the movie and in real life was half way between a rubbish dump and a war zone so try to max out on the messy scruffy look if you can. I know there is a limit on how much you can do before lag becomes an issue. When can I play test it and those weapons in the screenies?

I'm experiencing lag when I'm in the bakara Market, that's due to the large amount of Objects in the map...
I'm trying to modify the LODS of the models, so we can enjoy the city without lag!

But when you do get into the main city, it becomes less visible because there's less of it. But look a little closer, because it still has a bit of that reddish color. I think a slight change hue adjustment could do the trick.

Seeing as your mod is based primarily on the movie are you going to do specific charaters? If so I bags playing as Hoot (Eric Banner plays that role supremely and he is an Aussie! Anyone remember his roles on Fast Forward?)

Nice cars linker split, but I think that some of the cars look a bit too nice! Needs so more rust or something, but that is just me. Keep up the good work!
Cars lookin' pretty sweet, as comunistbastard did say though they could do with more rust around the bare metal bits, especially the blue truck (in the wheel arches, door arch and front axel to be specific ) still looks pretty damn good with that in mind

The weapons are looking really good. Since they are so high-detailed, why don't you try 3D modeling a hole on the M249 ammo box and some ammo there instead of just plain texture..? Would add a nice touch.

I will explain you how the facts went:
A model maker of our team (The Boss, the one who made http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST&f=69&t=70446&st=0&&#entry1189769) told me to not give him any credits, he said that models were easy to make (of course, he imported them).
The strange thing is that everytime he gave me some models, he only gave me the 3DS max format of them, that's why I always say that I made those models, and that they are from scratch... indeed what I did was to import them into O2 (from 3DS to P3D) and make all the needed LODS!
Anyway, we are taking precautions and I'm personally checking all the other models he gave me (since the others are 100% made by me, and seriously no importing process, I can use only Oxygen). for what I checked, only some models have been imported from Call Of Duty 4, but they are pukes, considering my 256 models we made.
I still apologize for the crappy inconvenience.

Some question's. Will most of the buildings be open to run inside? Also can you give us any idea of when you might release the BHD Mod or is it secret? How is the AI path finding? Beacause i noticed with the Sakakah Al Jawf Open Beta the ai loved to walk into walls and take 10 minuites to find a path to the other side of a house. Are there any Skinnies yet?
