Why are 505 taking so long to release? does it really take that long for bis to translate the campaign into english? blink.gif

Most likely because its their first game and they will be the mayor suplier of ArmA. So that means they would need to ship it all over the world. And since its their first game, I think it will require some trail and error.

Let's hope there will be enough copies available when it gets released in germany. Because i will consider paying germany a visit wink.gif

I have no problem with that. Preordered the SE edition.

Will the SE edition be released on the same date as the normal retail edition?

I'd have thought that they would of made more money out of releasing the SE about 1 week earlier rather than just a day. I would presonally be able to endure one day of waiting - not quite sure about one whole week though! laugh.gif
Although I will be getting the SE anyway so... Copy of rolleyes.gif

I may get my package first on 30.11, depends on the shipping speed. Either 29.11 or 30.11. German Post normally needs 2 days to deliver a package.
So Morphicon didn't meant to privilege SE owners, it's not the intention of a clever marketing strategy, it's because of the shipping.

8 days now KH, this is going to be the slowest week of your life laugh.gif
2 questions:

1: Will the uk'ers (myself included) be able to by the SE edition from a website ie: 505 if they get their ass in gear. Its just that most uk websites and shops dont bother with 'unheard' of games such as this.

2. We know that ofp addons will be able to be crafted into ArmA but will ArmA units be able to be crafted into the old ofp1?

cheers folks

1. I don't know if the SE will be a limited edition in UK but in Germany there were only 1.000 available. Maybe there will a special pre-order page for the SE, same as for Germans....

2. No, ArmA addons are not compatible with OFP.

i think this is going to be a good little money spinner for 505, the big boys are going to be kicking themselves IMO. somthing tells me well be seeing more of 505 in the future.

Personally, I cant see why other publishers didn;t jump at the chance to publish it.. OFP was successful beyond measure, and continues to be. The prestige of developing such a game stays with a company for a long time - not in Codemasters' case though tongue.gif

Im glad that we have got rid of codemasters. They always have been a one hit wonder developer. They always seem to make a great game and then when the second one comes along screw the developer and make as much money as possible from the ensueing legal actions.
Trevs right. 505 are gunna make a mint with this game. Like ofp1 ArmA will still be selling in 5, 6 years time.
The big publishers dont want anything to do with games like this cos its not 'popular'. A shoe company wouldnt want to make really comfortable 'Sportif' trainers but they'd jump to make 'nike' stuff.

Same with EA and BF-series. Profit, profit and profit. The gamer hasn't got any time to enjoy the game to the fullest, no he'll get every 6 month a new full price title to buy ...

Glad we had enough time to enjoy OFP, 5 long years with ups and downs and now ArmA for another bunch of years wink.gif
