Hello Gamers,
This is Martin Darren here. I am looking to start up a realism unit, but do not feel I have the potential to do so, so I am looking for someone else to fulfill my role as CO. I am looking for a person with relative experience preferably in realism; even better, would be a CO serving in the Military, but this is not a requirement. I am looking for people aged between 25-50, and you must be able to fulfill duties involving money e.g. servers etc. duties and time duties. The person must be able to lead men and understand how the military system works. If you feel you can fulfill these duties add my on xfire=recruiter7id Thanks, M.Darren Acting XO P.S XO Position on Offer to 18-30 Year olds. |

Seriously, do you think anyone would be loved to pay server fees and other things? If you want to start a clan, then good luck, but I'd recommend joinig one! -------------------- HUNS

so your really asking somone to make a clan for you? So you can start in a position of power without doing any work/spending.
why dont you just join one. Most new clans die in the first 2-3 months if not weeks. This post has been edited by BigglesTrevor: May 19 2008, 23:34 -------------------- |

I highly recommend, as stated above, that you join and do 'service' in a clan before you think about running one; especially if you do not think you have the potential to be a CO.
If you want to be the founder of the clan you will have to accept the running costs until you've gotten a group thats big enough and has members who will donate to the running costs ocasionally out of generosity and not as a pre-requisite for joining (i.e membership fee). Secondly: Having a command group is useless without members, so essentially being able to perform the 'duties' of a CO is crucial to setting up a clan as you will effectively lead it until it's grown to the point that a command structure will suport itself whilst working properly within the clan. Asking for some one to do this for you will be mostly frowned upon as shown by the general tone of the other responses here. What your effectively wanting is to join a newly forming clan not set one up. Even then i'd still suggest joining a long running clan so you'd know how a succesfull clan is run. All this is not just garbage it's coming from nearly 3+ years of clan experience as the CO, XO and XA of various squads in clans for numerous games list looks as such: DsK (Disbanded) - 6 months ('service' ended with the clans disbanding) no commands NRN/New Republic Navy international gaming club - coming up for 3 years: think i've held a total of 4 or 5 command spots there ATEF (now ACS) [6+ months until ATEF merged with ICM which then formed ACS (don't quote me on that i lost track of things after ICM)] was a Tech sergent there. I also have had experience trying to start a clan and it ain't easy asking for some one else to do it won't help and biggles is entirely right most new things don't last longer than a few months at best. best of luck though -------------------- Never before in the history of man, was so much buggered up by so few.

Trust me it is far more rewarding to start your unit from scratch than it is to go grab someone else to do it for you. I have run my own unit for the past two years and it has been thoroughly enjoyable even when there have been those seasonal quiet times.
It just requires a little community networking, asking people for advice, a small amount of server admin and the rest is discovered as you go. I won't bash you for making the advertisement as it is fair enough. I would just recommend to try and run the unit yourself for a bit, if it doesn't work then nothing has been lost and you can always join another unit. Best of luck, Griff -------------------- Being a Griffin is like being an Elephant. Big, Strong, reasonably quick when needed to be and he never forgets!
