How can I set up some artillery support missions? I create a small mission where I want to use artillery to bomb a enemy camp, but have no idea of how to do it. Can someone help?

I put the SOM icon on the map from the module section, then create a trigger set to repeatedly , activation by radio callsign of your choice , then in the on activation box placethe command line
[b][["artillery_barrage"], player, [[]]] call BIS_SOM_addSupportRequestFunc;[b]

in game SOM will kick in and start giving you missions, get the radio up, click the callsign you put in the trigger and this will give you a support function artillery barrage with SOM.
when asked click on the map where you want your rounds and off you go, devestation.

oh yeah, if you wanna stop SOM giving missions then just put

this setVariable ["settings", [[], true, nil, nil, false]];

in the SOM init field,you still get the arty but none of the missions

I can't even get this to work! I followed the guide above and I'm damned if I can get it running, M119 or MLRS!

Am I doing something wrong?

I can get as far as being able to use the radio for ALPHA but when selected, it does bugger all.

So I'm creating an AI M119 or MLRS unit. Syncing to a SECOP module. Then I'm adding the init reference above to the trigger I make which is repeated.

Please Help!

lol

Thanks!!

ok create the trigger with [["artillery_barrage"], player, [[]]] call BIS_SOM_addSupportRequestFunc; in the activation box

set to repeatedly

put the som module on the map

in game, select callsign, then go to communication ...try the zero button on keypad then button 8, this will bring up the SOM coms menu, artillery barrage will be option 1
then enjoy.its as simple as that
push the callsign again to get arty again, and again and again and again!

If you place a trigger set to repeatedly and change it to radio alpha as its activation. Then in the box called on activation copy and paste this,

[["transport", "aerial_reconnaissance", "supply_drop", "tactical_airstrike", "artillery_barrage"], player] call BIS_SOM_addSupportRequestFunc;

Click on okay then add a secop module from modules and draw a synch line from the secop module to your player.

When in game press 0 - 0 - 1 to "radio alpha" then you can scroll down to communications with the mouse wheel and select either UAV support, Artillery, Close Air Support (cas), Supply drop, or the transport which sends a huey that lands near you and can transport you to where you click on the map.

The Close air requires a laser designator that the west/menfr/FAC Operaitor has. After you call your support you need to fire the laser at the target and wait for the fun to begin. This is needed for the laser guided artillery also. If you want to add a laser designator to a different unit add this into its initialization box,

This addmagazine "laserbatteries"; this addweapon "laserdesignator";

I hope this helps people new to editing, after learning this I have enjoyed making many cool missions with lots of boomage biggrin.gif
