I am sorry to ask what will be a simple question to some! I have what I think is a good PC, but I am no tech wiz.
Here is the spec: Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Q6600 Quad Core Processor(2.4GHz,8MB Cache,1066MHz) Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Premium Edition PCI-Express Mainboard - SLI nForce 650i SLI(C55) - Intel Core 2 Duo/Quad-Core - ATX 4GB DDR2 667MHz Memory ( 4 x 1GB SS) 500GB Serial ATA Hard Drive with 16MB Buffer LightScribe Super Format 18x Dual Layer DVD Writer +R/-R/RW/RAM 2x 256MB nVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT - SLI Configuration Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Sound Card (oem) Should Arma 2 run on this? It would be nice to know if I have a chance before I order it. Thank you for any help. |

I am not a tech viz either but I will tell you what I believe base on my own experience and intensive "all Forums" readings :
Quad 6600 : Ok Ram 4 Go : Ok I am a bit dubious about the "2x 256MB nVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT - SLI Configuration" because even if a single 8600 GT is meeting the Min specs level, the ArmA* family does not like SLI. So the result may be disappointing. A single Ge2501Go will probably give better results. Test the game with the Demo, then if you find the game great buy it ... , then if you have an unsatisfactory result about the graphic part ... save money in order to buy a better Graphic card. After having played 2 days with my nice and old 1950Pro 512, I went to the hardware dealer to buy a HD4870 1Go ... -------------------- |

I think you should get 8800GT.Because it shader model 4.0 and it DirectX 1.0 and it perfect for arma II -------------------- Keep your signature within the guidelines provided for size.
