Greetings peoples!
I am here to encourage any Australians here to sign as many petitions as they can find to get Airsoft legal again so that we Aussies can join in on the enjoyment of playing Army without any downsides (preferably milsim and not rambo). I am not sure if I am allowed to post the links to the petitions here but they are not hard to find, just google/search for something like Airsoft Australia or Airsoft Australia Petition and you will find at least 1 or 2 to sign to add support to the cause. Please spread the word to anyone you know! thumbsup.gif

Yes I am well aware of the reputation Airsoft has with some people because of some "gucci" individuals acting like total fools (that really annoys me). I would like to try avoiding that sort of thing should Airsoft ever become legal Down Under in the future. shotgun.gif a078.gif

Firstly I hope you are not using ACE because that is rediculous for this type of thing and secondly check your difficulty settings, make sure all AI settings both friend and enemy are set to NORMAL and thirdly (is that a word? lol) this is a type of game "feature" because once any AI are aware of you being there they all become aware of you knowing exactly where you are. All you can do is to relocate often and try to use solid things as cover like big rocks or bus stops. Trees can not and will no protect you at all.

As a sidenote I sincerely hope that BIS do something about this in the sequel. rolleyes.gif

Greetings salut.gif

Once again I am looking for some new people to game with. Preferably in the Australia - New Zeadland area. I am not looking for anything too serious because I work erratic hours and can't always be on at the same time plus I would like to avoid the time zone issues of clans outside this area because I have missed a few sessions in the past because of work that really pissed off some over zealous clan members surrender.gif

Let me know if you are looking for an extra gun or team member drunk.gif

Hello people biggrin.gif

I have just done some pretty major PC upgrading and I have had some strange issue. Basically it was recommended to me to run my screen resolution at 1440x900. It works fine on the desktop but in game the screen gets offset to the right by several inches. On my old PC I used a screen resolution of 1024x768 (which was on a PC that was less then 2 years old).

Can some people on here throw me some ideas or recommedations on the best screen resolution to use? helpsos.gif

Indeed WACO is the go mate. A mate and I often play WACO version 1.14 for a couple of hours straight and have been spanked by the AI on a few occasions sweatingbullets.gif

Have fun drunk.gif

I am curious as to why you would want to have both iron sights AND a red dot sight, because they are both short range sighting devices.

I will ask around for you to see if I can find anyone to help you out there.
The only downside to zombie type missions in ArmA is the "you can't move while reloading" thing which means its all classic eat lead you ugly bastards action... until you have to reload which usually results in a hilarious running for your life moment rofl.gif

Have you played or heard of the Nogovs Virus missions? It might be a good place to get some inspiration when it comes to having moving zombie spawning areas and a script that stops too many from spawning at once.

Another zombie mod? Whats your plan? I used to love the old Nogova Virus missions! All you fans of zombies should all get together and work together, because many hands make light work thumbsup.gif

Add a few TechCom Resistance soldiers, a HK plane and tank then let a few creative mission makers turn out a campaign... Any takers?

This topic has taken on a life of its own.

To this date I am still not at all interested in ArmA2 simply because there are little details that they keep showing in their screenshots and videos that really should be addressed. A proper and REALISTIC reloading animation, not 3 seconds of shaking the weapon up and down. Getting rid of the totally unrealistic 2 levels of zoom when using weapon sights, when last I checked the human eyeball can not have variable zoom! And how about a weapon holding animation that does not have the hands clipping through parts of the weapon? Everything "new" is not new at all when there are FAR better options available in ArmA1 as it is made by a community of gamers who are not professional developers. I could set the graphics to ultra high and use some community made addons to do better then what BIS are showing. I know people are having a whine about some of the bigger things but smaller things matter too, don't you agree?

Wow some people really do go nuts with the fan created material!

I prefer the canon material personally. I'm just wishing they would hurry up and release season 4 of new BSG here sweatingbullets.gif

The Mk.II would have to have: William Adama "HUSKER" under its cockpit thumbsup.gif

As for using my sig I would recommend using it on the Raptor because Wild Weasel is definately a role that the Raptor would perform so it would look right on there, don't you think?

Heres a link with some useful images of offical BSG ships both old and new, I hope it helps with the models.

http://www.shipschematics.net/cgi-bin/bsg/bsg.cgi?Official

Just click the Ship Name and it gives you an image, either a single view or a high res multi view.

A US Woodland BDU reskin replacement for BOTH BIS Men and BIS USMC for ALL units on the BLUFOR side. That way it will be consistant for both the vehicles and infantry being in the same colours.

(Yes I know there was a reskin and replacement pack done but it did not do all of what I am requesting)

BSG mod... Hmm... This could be a complete package if you want to take it that far. Colonial pilots and Marines up against Cyclone Centurions (that would be a tough model to do though). Just think of making a mission from the series where a Raptor has crashed and the Cyclons are using it as bait to lure in a Colonial rescue unit with a hidden SAM site nearby... Hey I'm sold biggrin.gif

It could be done. Almost "anything" is possible in ArmA.

Have you trie using the V key to see through the weapons sights (crosshairs)?
Also try locking on to your target.
The Stryker is just a lightly armoured APC, it is not really meant to be used like a tank.

Large scifi space ships have been done by the Stargate mod team, too big for most maps and lag the game a bit but could make for great background details I think. I will be watching your addons closely because I am a Colonial Viper fan. I even spent some serious money buying an original prop Viper from the classic BSG series wub.gif

I only have one question... How do you know that people would be honest? It is easy to just type no when the answer is yes. I'm not saying everyone here is a liar, Im just putting this out there. We are all mostly males and that makes us all vulnerable to anything sexual like a good looking girl or guy or ham sandwich...

Hey guys biggrin.gif

I have a little model project I am looking into but I have hit a wall because I have no idea how to change a model from W3D and GMAX to 3DS to ArmA (or if it is even possible). If anyone out there can help with either information or be willing to do it for me it would be greatly appreciated and of course full credit would be given once the project is completed thumbsup.gif
