Hello ARMA Commuity,

just a simple question (I hope :-)...

I would like to use some of Vilas weapon packs.
In the readme I found the hint for 'Grenades': requires "VIL_THROW" in unit init

What does that mean ?

unit init = init line in the editor ( F1 create units ) ?

-or does it mean another unit init (where to find)?

What is the exact synthax I have to write in the unit init ????

For what I have to write that command in the unit init ?


Same question for 'OTHERS': requires "VIL_PUT"

there is a engine limitation
you cannot throw custom grenade by BIS soldier, because BIS soldier has in his "hands" virtual magazine that allows him to throw only vanila game greandes
so when i made own grenades, i had also to give soldier ability to throw it
thats why soldiers have "vil_Throw" and "Vil_PUT"
please notice that in P85 there is "fragmentation bomb", while usual game "satchel charge" is in fact low-range high-power for destruct targets like tank
in P85 you have also anti-personel charge that requires new "put" definition
all soldiers in P85 and my other addons have those "throw" and "put" redefined (if addon contain new greandes or mine)

but i am not coder/scripter, so i cannot help you more - how to use it in "editor"

Thanks for answer ,Vilas.

I just don't understand, if I have to write "Vil_Throw" or "Vil_Put" somewhere. when I will create a soldier with YOUR HANDGRENADES in the editor for my mission (e.g. the player character for the mission ?).

Or can i just equip your handgrenades to the soldier, and in the mission I can throw your Vil_Grenades/ or the AI can use it ?

In simple words:

I don't know where to write "Vil_Throw" that your Handgrenades will function in gameplay ... ???
