ArmA:ToW annouces the start of Campaign 1

The tenuous peace between the US and Russian forces on the disputed island of Sahrani, is today on the brink of collapse. The two forces have been building up their military presence on the island for months. Both sides being guilty of highly provocative "fun exercises" that have resulted in frequent skirmishes between their forces.

Our, incredibly precise, military analysts are predicting an imminent escalation of violence, in fact they are informing us that all out war over the islands future will commence at 17:00 GMT on Sunday 9th December 2007.

All existing troops are being asked to report to their commanding officers ready for assignment. Those civilians who feel passionately about the future of this island are being urged to enlist and help influence the battle's outcome.

Both sides are expected to spend these last days before battle commences, putting their latest recruits through boot camp, carrying out reconnaissance of the area of operations, training and developing tactics to 'remove' their enemies from this beautiful island permanently.

Name of the addon: Irish Defence Forces - Infantry
Details: This basically adds Irish infantry to the game, there are eight different units; Squad Leader, Rifleman, Marksman, Grenadier, Medic, AT Rifleman, Engineer and Machine Gunner. There are still some bugs (explained in the readme) i hope to fix these soon. There is a new helmet model and a new model for the rucksacks used.

Details: Ok this is a continuation of the Irish Addon i made recently, the addon depicts 19 different types of British soldier in both temperate and desert DPM , i am the first to admit that the mod is not perfect but hopefully the bugs can be ironed out. The soldiers are wearing the new helmet model and have the new backpack i used for the irish units. Enjoy.

They look like they were done in game and the Border removed (Check the edges) It doesn't look like a rendering program.

Details: Right this is an updated version of my previous British Infantry. I have renamed the files (from bisoldier & bisoldier2) to help with any compatability issues (i think the NBC addon was called bisoldier as well). I have also reworked all the models and added Osprey body armour, this time it has been physically modelled rather than done with textures like last time. I have also moddelled helmet tape for all the units and added NVG clips to the troop's helmets. Like before there are desert and temperate DPM varients. Enjoy!

Details: Ok well this addon conatins two different sets of Royal Marine Commandos, one lot wearing a desert/temperate DPM mix as the RMC did in afghanistan around 2003, they are also wearing the old style body armour as Osprey wasn't available at the time. The second lot of RMC are desinged to be an up to date version wearing Osprey body armour and desert DPM. Hope you enjoy!

Images are added not in the code of the newspost itself, but through additional options (dropdown boxes, entry fields etc.) that are only accessible to the newsposter. They are uploaded to a folder (Pics1, Pics2 or Pics3 AFAIK), and then the newspost has to enter the name of the image (for this, the images have to be named in the same format, so for example "JdB_Myaddon_1.jpg" through "JdB_Myaddon_6.jpg"). For this example, the name entered would be "JdB_Myaddon_", as the scripting automatically adds the numbers and file extension, provided the right number has been entered by the newsposter, for this example "6". Thummnails are named the same, but with the addition of an "s". So "JdB_Myaddon_1s.jpg". The scripts automatically process this. So it helps if you give your screenshots sensible names (ex-newsposter speaking .. ), and provide thumbnails yourself (with a width of 200 pixels, height depends on the display you own, widescreen or not), as the newsposter will have to do far less work, and will be able to post your news much more quickly.

Tags like YT and images do not work when previewing a post you are about to submit, at least I never got them to work.
