Lo Folks,
Right, ive had enough of playing this awsome game online on crapy servers. So lets get the ball rolling and have a dedicated .info ArmA server. Im quite sure that the 30 odd regulars off the old Eclipse server, me included, could work out something + the team behind the server. Whats invloved? How much and lets make it work I understand there is a few of us out there trying to make this happen, let us help. I know im willing ^^. Reasoning: Its only taken 4 months since the game release to the world for the online part to desend into a BF2 style heap. Wall hack, upped armour, gun steady and corner hack are all already in game. Also TK is all over with people tking for vehicles and spawn killing. The ofp.info server was a place where the people who realy enjoyed the game, the decent folk who played for honer and bragging rights instead of highest kill count were. Im really missing that in ArmA... Seen servers available for as little as £16 a month. Oh and it would have to be passworded to keep the nasties out ^^. cheers Carver -------------------- |

Hey Carver,
I can tell you that there will be an ArmedAssault.info server soon. If you do have some missions for v1.05 get in contact with the gameserver team (Pmaster, x-ray and myself) This shorten the waiting time (?). Unfortunately we can'nt promise that the server won't be overrun by Statistic-and-TK-Noobs, because ArmedAssault.info is a public newssite and a password protection is sth we need to discuss before it might be implemented Let's hope for the best -------------------- |

Dudes,
I think password protection would be better for the site as it would keep it private between members of this forum. Also it would keep out all the CS TKers and BF2 Hackers that have decended on the ArmA world. What was so special about the Eclipse server was that it was the ofp.info server. It was used and treated with respect by the members. It was a real community collaberation that made it good. The people who used it were senceable when we played properly and great fun when we mucked about. I fear that if we opened a server to the masses it would end up being swamped by idiots turning games unplayable and defeating the point of having a fun server for the forum. thats my argument anyways Marx How could i forget? BAS on the Eclipse server was the best! That and the people who played it made it the best good days they were on Eclipse. With luck we can be playing again soon on the new server ^^ rock on, carver -------------------- |

Well I agree, I think there should be a password that is freely available on this forum. That way it would keep the casual "Right, time to fire up ArmA and do some Tking!" people out. But after about a year or so, I think ArmA will go back to how ofp was - all (almost all) of the immature players bored and back on the arcade shooters, and the real community players still going strong as ever - thus eliminating the need for a password (but this can be reviewed later down the line).
