cool.gif Do plenty of exercise in order to be tired.
C) Drink.
D) Go to a party, drink a lot and stay there until 6 AM.

Lots of fresh air, exercise, good diet and trying to keep a regular sleep patern.
Actually going to bed at a set time and aiming to get up for a set time (alarms, its a love - hate relationship) is also a good idea, the increasing number of hours of daylight can mess with biological clocks, you may or may not feel tired but your brain may just think it's to early to be sleeping.

Only one of benoist points is worth taking into acount, that being don't drink coffee close to going to bed the point to not drink cafinated drinks (Coke, pepsi, tea, coffee etc etc) after depends really on how quickly these get into your system, e.g for me it takes a while for a coffee buzz to kick in (then again i've been known to drink 10 cups minimum a day near deadlines so i may be slightly numbed to it.)
Drinking (alcohol) is not a great idea, alcohol induced sleep or drunken stupor doesn't give you proper rest as your body will be doped up with alcohol, which just makes you feel even more tired throughout the day (i tend to get hit by it around afternoon to the point i'm falling asleep if i sit down anywhere for more than a min)
As cliche as it is, a warm, or cold, glass of milk is good as is water.

Also, make sure you do not look at a screen within an hour or two of going to bed, the biological reasons escape me at the moment I advise reading instead.

my personal solution recently has been mild meditation before going to sleep but its not really to everybodys liking lol

Meditation? I do something like that too (depends what meditation is to you), the only difference is that it lasts 6 hours and takes up the whole night for me

Go to bed consistently. Or, wake up EXTREMELY Early, or pull an all nighter the night before you go to bed early. You can sleep till Arma 3 like that.

Don't?
It worked for Thatcher, but then again I guess you aren't a fan of "Good Ol' Maggie"...

Precisely! __furious.gif

Benoist wanted to have it though, and you want the accomplish the opposite...

Still I will write a moderating report on this incident that is so long and detailed that it will make you fall asleep for sure glare.gif

hug.gif

As for falling asleep on non-moderative (yes, I just made up that word) days, I always make sure my head is completely clear of thought while laying. It's not exactly meditating (well in a way I suppose since meditating accomplishes the same thing), but it is much harder to sleep when your brain is actively bothered by something.

Also the miracle cure of course does wonders, nothing beats a steamy hot cup of Flesh Eating Beetles! sweatingbullets.gif

Air your room well before you go to sleep, use lightweight bedding. But close the windows then. Every possible noise from outside makes it hard to fall asleep.

Really depends on the person and the location, I can sleep with the curtains open, sun in the face with the window open, and my bedroom is facing (and right next to) a busy road wink.gif

It's hard to narrow it down with so little detailed information regarding the room, mental status etc.

As he mentioned the time of year, I am leaning towards temperature or pressure through exams...

Was gonna say but was hoping JdB would point it out and merge the two.
Just a point to consider: sleeping keeps the mind fresh, those who don't sleep lack focus and concentration.
A simple example, my later high school grades dropped from A's to B's due to a gradual drop in the number of hours of sleep i had.
If you have persistent trouble sleeping i recomend seing your GP/doctor

It's necessary however, to warn you that this has been known to summon forth David Bowie from whatever dimension he currently inhabits. You have been warned.

Personally I prefer the stewed persuasion of my FEBs.

(Lightweight bedding?! Are you insane man? The body needs to be under pressure to get to sleep, meaning what you've said is counterbehaviour! A Savant told me this and I have no reason to doubt him!)

If you're referring to me, this thing happens to me only in summer so it's not a real problem

its a good plan, but it could result in brain damage if this method was used frequently.
