On behalf of Gaz, i'll be introducing you to this WIP 101st Airborne soldiers, I hope you all enjoy the pics, any questions and be directed in the thread and either i or Gaz will relay a reply. smile.gif

''These are my first attempt at modding. They are 101st Airborne WW2 units, which will be released soon as part of the 31st Normandy mod, so thanks to Rip31st for agreeing to add them.
And also a big thanks to Villas for letting me edit his ww2 Airborne units.
The units are 506th PIR D Day units. I hope to be making some for different events during WW2 such as Market Garden and the battle of the bulge ect.'' - Gaz

finally somone makes them smile.gif
Some bugs though in gear you are giving them. The overall look is quite nice but some of the pouches are not correct equipement in 1944 normandy period.
- first of all - the color of bags, pouches and webbing should be khaki, not olive drab 07. The OD7 webbing is quite rare for that period, only some pieces were OD7 for example M1936 Belt and it was rare. It is safer to use khaki color for that period to be historically correct.
- shovel is not the correct shape and size. you clearly used russian shovel for this - please dont leave it like that...
- thompson 5 magazines pouch were the only used in Normandy. The 3 mag pouch were not used and shouldnt be wear especially in that double, 6 mag configuration. 5mag pouch is khaki color only.
- 3 pocket grenade pouch were not used or extreamly rare in Normandy.
-M3 shoulder holster for Colt 1911 were rarely used in Normandy. Very rarely. Dont believe the games smile.gif I know it looks cool in Brothers in Arms but it is not correct.
- where did you get this skull and bones decal on the helmet from?? again dont make the mistakes other gamemakaers do.

thats all I noticed right now. But dont worry theese are very common mistakes smile.gif If you have any question about some particular piece of item I will be glad to help you.
Keep up the very good work. And dont forget to make 82nd Airborne - it is only a matter of changing the shoulder patch, removing the helmet decals, and add more dirt on the uniforms. A lot more dirt smile.gif

check the http://www.paraglite.org/index.php/pl/galerie for 82nd Airborne reference, and http://www.101airborne.pl/en/photo-galleries

Fair comments but i'm not really going for full on historical accuracy, i just think its too much trouble. They aren't really mistakes its just how i want to do them wink.gif
I have however changed the green pouches and bags to khaki, but the grenade pouches and the shoulder holster are staying smile.gif, as is the shovel sorry.

The skull and crossbones is another thing i just wanted to put on there its not meant to represent anything.

I hadn't planned on making 82nd but i may make them as a seperate addon after the release of these.

Here's some edited pics. They are finished now so will be released in the very near future

Still hope it could be in historical accuracy. Shovel could be just moved away.
