Good morning everyone.

I need some help with something and it may be a silly question but...

First off I like many others am trying to edit for my own personal usage EVOLUTION BLUE/HOHEI etc. For my own personal usage for a small network.
I have arma tools and I know how to unpack the files etc and to view/edit the files.

But here's my problem. I'm just starting out with this. I love evolution and I play frequently on various servers. I'm trying to take Evolution both ranked and non ranked versions and edit them. I know some people "myself included" aren't too happy with the "AMOUNT" of units available in Evolution. So I want to ADD some addon units and place them on the base in evolution. I.E Chinook, apache, some bombersm, SCUD NUC launcher and different tanks etc etc etc. Think you get the idea. How do people add in the addon units into evolution? I've seen a hohei evolution with the bi-planes in the hanger as well so there must be a way.

Obviously the people joining the server will have to download those addon units...is there a way to include them into the evolution PBO file "packed up", so that when they connect they can get them from the server???? I know the download will be larger but i'm curious if its possible.

Secondly...when it comes to adding additional "STOCK" units i.e tanks/aircraft how is this done? I have currently open the mission sqm file, and I see all the units in the game placed, do they get placed by using the games editor? I believe so since i've seen another post with relatively the same question asked.

So what it boils down to is...how do I add in addon units to evolution? Can I save the addon units RIGHT into the evolution pbo? How do I exactly edit and add STOCK units into the evolution map? I want more artillery cannons, vulcans, abrams tanks.

I would really appreciate any advice you could give me on this. I want this Evolution game to have even more selection on base for players. A few more a10's, cobra's, tanks, ah-6 and addon aircraft would be nice. The chinook would be nice, and i've seen some other really good aircraft for massive air drops. I haven't seen anything from KillJOY about whether or not he plans on adding more units to the base inventory.

To answer your questions;
1. Is there a way to pack addons with the evolution pbo?
You can't include addons in a mission PBO. You could pack them together as a single addon, unless you had the permission of the creators of these addons that probably wouldn't be taken too kindly. It wouldn't really reduce the amount of stuff people would have to download either. Better to just use them as required addon.

2. How do you add units to evolution?
You need to edit the mission. Simple as that. I don't know the insides of the mission, though I imagine you'd need to add the units in with the editor, and then add the necessary scripts for the units to work. You'd probably want to get in touch with the creator of the mission if you want help with this, because I don't think anyone else will really know too much about adding units into the mission. You'll also want his permission before editing the mission (because of the way MP missions work ingame, it's not really practical to not distribute modified versions).
