I think a thumbs up just about sums it up really:
Be nice, hopefully a lot less lag as my FPS on ArmA can become terrible. Oh and thanks for keeping an eye out for news DaV!d. -------------------- If you make something idiot-proof, someone will create a better idiot.

Quite Impressive.
I like the Autumn look a lot, but that might just be me -------------------- The Rules - Nothing too complicated, follow these and we'll have no problems.

I like the new improvement, the Z-priming method for drawning the vegetation... I only hope they'll release LINDA.
Oh, they said: we can now particularly colorize vegetation clutters by satellite map finally they implemented what already exists in other games like Crysis! -------------------- Visit my blog about Poker at Blogspot.com

"Tell us"... Are you part of BI? Anyway, the autum atmosphere is quite good, I'll enjoy that. No,i'm just a player like you,and him...But the diffrence between both of us is,me and my "German Gamers ClubNight Team" were making Coop Events for Armed Assault. Now we stopped our "Armed Assault Coop Fan Community Project",cuz of to small Community.Only few of the Armed Assault players were intrested to play with us tactical coop missions. And i want to change that on ArmA 2.I mean,i want a bigger Community for ArmA 2,and thats the reason why i share my news with you guys.Bring your friends to play ArmA 2.However it is the best infantry combat simulation at the moment, and it needs a bigger Community quickly. So if we get the Community bigger,i hope i can also recruit new team members, and make our German Gamers Club bigger."German" doesnt means we must be only germans.Americans,or guys who are also using the World language "english" are allowed to join our Club, and be a part of our next "Armed Assault 2 Coop Fan Community" also called "ClubNight 2" project. We are alive, but our events died.I mean what is an Event without a big community? Nothing... @Topic: I really like to see the progress of Armed Assault 2.I hope the best for the Community, and Bohemia Interactive Studios.I also hope they will fix the performance of the Viewdistance. The players should be able to set the Viewdistance up to 5000 meters, but without an High End Machine.I got already a High End Machine, but i can't play (play means without any lag or critical frames) with more than 5000 meters. -------------------- |

Oh, they said: we can now particularly colorize vegetation clutters by satellite map finally they implemented what already exists in other games like Crysis! Looks like they've finally implemented what already exists in games no one can run! Eh, I'm being tough on Crysis I guess. But is that actually supported in said slideshow? I was under the impression that Crysis ran maps in a 3D format rather than a height/texture/object map? On the topic of long view distances without lag, I don't see that being a possibility, it's like saying you want to be able to buy everything you've ever wanted, still have money left and not have had to work to do that. There's a small chance that they could work out something so revolutionary that it'll make this possible (read: Winning the Lottery), but I don't really see it as a possibility. -------------------- The Rules - Nothing too complicated, follow these and we'll have no problems.

Implementation of satelite image affecting the colouration of the vegetation.
Wow I like came up with that idea and posted it on the BI forums once to fix someones complaint about the grass not blending in well enough. BI must have read it and liked the idea so much that they adopted it Suppose I can expect an invitation soon to be working for them On that topic of vegetation blending, I found the lower res vegetation mod did the trick extremely well I love these new ArmA 2 screens -------------------- |

I was under the impression that Crysis ran maps in a 3D format rather than a height/texture/object map? Crysis run maps which are imported like in ArmA, but they are not so big as in this game, cause crytek 2 is not real virtuality 2 -------------------- Visit my blog about Poker at Blogspot.com

Usally it's the amount of selections drawn by the engine which causes lag... maybe it's not only the grass which causes that lag, but a combination of models with lots of selections -------------------- Visit my blog about Poker at Blogspot.com

some news
QUOTE we found solution how to reduce overdraw about 25%, but this solution need diferent representation of tree surfaces and vertexes (diferent model and binarisation of this model and diferent way, how to switch vegetation lods). So it's not usable for curent vegetation data and will be used in next projects. Alphatextures mean also masked textures (that is 1bit transparency or opacity if you want and we use them) this is what O'Hara said on BI forumabout the thread iopened in the Editing section SOURCE: Link -------------------- Visit my blog about Poker at Blogspot.com
