Hardly surprising that someone who wrecked the lives of so many is being vilified. To some she was a strong willed hero and to others she was a real nasty piece of work. I saw all the sparks flying between friends discussing this on facebook yesterday. Personally I don't feel I know enough about her politics to hold much of an opinion, but I do know she certainly pissed off a lot of usually well mannered folk.
