The 'What will you do once you have ArmA' thread Options

Definatley check out the island, new vehicles and effects. Hanging out to use that elevator seen in on of the AA vids i seen. Also lookin foward to seeing how it rus on my system.

First off I will visit the options and configure that game for my machine. Then its off to the editor, where I will place units of land, sea, and air to explore that huge island. Infantry first, then air, then sea, then land. I will take a look at what that island has to offer, and pick my first location for a mission.

I will try a SP mission or two, and once I am comfortable with the controls and the units, I will launch the campaign.

I am a US player, but I may pick up the German version, due to my inability to wait three more months.

First:
First of im going into the mission editor, place a couple of empty helis and aircraft at the air base seen on the sahrani map...

Put my self as a soldier, then im going to test them one by one and fly around the island, trying to fly under as many bridges i can find, investigate to see if they have done any changes to flying in the physics engine.

Next up:
im going to find me a good lacation near a town, and place all ingame empty veichle i can find and start exploring the map and veichels for where my first ArmA COOP mission location..

Third:
Start planning an LAN Weekend with my OFP friends.....

I have OFP, Resistance, Redhammer, Gold, FDF mod, Swe pack, but i have never played more than 5 to 10 campaign missions, because i love the mission editor and to play COOP in multiplayer...

In OFP i could just start the editor and fly around to find new mission ideas....

I just don't understand, why do people want to know the whole of North and South Sahrani by memory before playing the campaign?

Well that just depends on the person who's playing the game I guess, i'd rather be hit hard by all the things at once: nice cutscenes + the units (even though I seen them already on pics) + the graphics... and you can get that by playing the campaign first.

True. I'll probably play the campaign first anyway, but as soon as I get stuck, I'm off to the editor!
But I'll probably play around on the desert island and make some missions there, rather than explore the sahrani island. I think you've persuaded me to leave that for the campaign

that laptop should be ok with everything on low. anythign higher and by sounds of it it will struggle.

I ordered the German version yesterday, I decided that I can't wait until Q1 2007.

I will probably go into the editor and have some fun, try different graphics settings until it runs smooth with lots of action going on. Then I'll probably start the campaign and do some missions if they have been translated with the "language patcher", my German is rusty.

im only going to check out south sahrani in editor. get a feel for it, if you were stationed there you would know your way around, especially it not being a warzone (until north invades)
