LOL, i dont know how i managed to keep it flying so long. My bomb run was really inacurate, i was aiming for hangers beyond the runway but was loosing 30ft a second. after i dropped i dived to try put the fire out after the fire extinguisher did bum all. Then i did that thing when you feel i slight jerk and takes you a good 10 seconds to figure your kite is missing a wing. good kill anyway wittman.

The extinguishers only work if your engine is burning, not if the fuel tank itself burns... only chance to survive is to nose dive and pray that you are fast enough to extinguish the fire... and then land asap

Still, that B25 wrote off two me109s and took numerous 20mm and 30mm hits...it should have stopped flying long before it did I have to say Trev is one brave SOB to stay in the crate when it was making like a furnace. I would have bailed or kamikazed
Left you an MSN message Mark. Im keen to fly soonish but dont think I will be too long out of bed, its 0200 GMT + 10... -------------------- |

I would have bailed or kamikazed The B-25 is a very good plane, like a small brother of the flying fortress, at least it could have the same nickname On Monday when we had a battle between the Royal Navy + Hurricanes and Buffalos against Zeros, Vals and Bettys, my Betty catched fire (right wing fuel tank) and my only chance was to reach the coast... i feared the whole flight that my machine would explode every moment, but it did not. I had to emergency land just 1km before i reached the coast because my fuel tanks were empty... -------------------- "Wer A sagt, der muß nicht B sagen. Yep. IL2 will still be popular for its late war settings while SoW is new, as it will begin in 1940 and work up...
