Well, it's a nice start. You should try reworking on the camo though. I can see the pattern has been generated with a camouflage plugin and the colors are kinda bright too, perhaps even too variegated, especially the desert camo on pic1. I like the colors of the camo on pic2 though, but maybe less brightness would be better.
You should work on the details of the clothing in general too. There's not much of texture there apart from the normal mapping... the pockets of the trousers seem to be missing too. This post has been edited by Rellikki: Jan 20 2009, 22:13 |

I am having problems figuring out how to get the pocket textures... all i did was delete the old textures from the us_soldieracu_co and generated my own texture. Then copied the gray texture from the soldier_nohq and pasted it on the camo, then multiplied them so they melted together. But still it looked crap. So if you or someone else could help me with those pockets etc i would really appreciate it. But thanks for the respons next addon will be WAY better. i hope |

You could always paint some shadow and detrition on the pockets to make them appear better.
You should be able to find some useful cloth texture tutorials if you search around a little. Google is your friend. |

Hi there.
With the detailing, here's a cheap way to get it done: 1. Get the pilot texture from the Characters PBO (The RACS one tends to work best, it has the least extra stuff on it and is a more neutral colour) 2. Grayscale the texture. 3. Set it as a soft light layer on top. If you need any other bits (ie, patches) copy them over directly from the soldier texture of the same group. -------------------- The Rules - Nothing too complicated, follow these and we'll have no problems.

i am having trouble creating a working and good looking body armor, the backpacks are the best so far. Thanks for the comments. |

Don't forget to add the netting on the helmet to the normal map, so it doesn't look so drawn/painted on. Looking good otherwise though.

Don't forget to add the netting on the helmet to the normal map, so it doesn't look so drawn/painted on. Looking good otherwise though. I am having some problems with that part Newbie problems, but i will figure it out. The 1.0 will NOT contain the mapping. But after some research and help i will release the next update. And they will surely have the normal map thing... And by the way. My SF units has been recently uploaded. Download NIX SF UNITS They have some problems, but still fun to play with, nothing that would effect gameplay, but still small annoying problems. Have fun.
