QUOTE Ever feel like not discussing our actions in public? Next comment towards the moderating staff gets a lovely free PR and WB combo from me. Bollocks. I've noticed some of the mods getting a little trigger happy with locking threads etc. Just chill a little and let people use the forums. Should icemotoboy PM every individual member to call their signature hilarious? He recognised a little offtopic in his post but still answered the question ontopic. Just give people a little room to breath in their posts without appearing like hounding police all the time. EDIT: I only say this because ArmA.Info (and OFP.Info) have been my favourite websites and forums for a bloody long time, this is my only issue with it. You must realise that I was not responding to previous posts in that thread just yours. If you want to discuss the actions of JdB in the thread do it via PM please. General questions and answers here =]

This P85 situation made me wonder. On the BIS forums, the discussion about the internal conflict was deleted. Would this same discussion also be deleted/disallowed here, or would it be allowed provided it happens without flaming?

The discussion you're referring to has taken a shape to be read only reluctantly in meanwhile.
Of course a mod's internal matters can be discussed here and sometimes they even need to be discussed in public. "Divorce battles" in terms of artist one saying "A" and artist two saying "Fuck you it's B" won't be tolerated here though. -------------------- |

Not a regular here but what makes me wonder a bit:
I just went through vilas ridiculous long "divorce post" where he's accusing all kind of people. Obviously he can say whatever he please while thunderbird has been banned after his first (and maybe last post). What gives? No, I'm not going for one or the other "side". I just wonder why TB is banned after he tried to point out that vilas is not just the poor victim. |

I just wonder why TB is banned after he tried to point out that vilas is not just the poor victim. And yet you did, as your post contains quite a bit of your opinion on this matter (let's just say that it sounds a little anti-Vilas rather than neutral as a moderator should be). I've noticed the same in a few moderator's reactions on the BIS forums (think it was Hoz, I've seen plenty of disputes on the BIS forum, can't remember them being deleted, and when someone brings the subject up, only Vilas gets the majority of the threats when he replies to it, which doesn't exactly seem neutral to me), and I'm happy to see that moderators on this forum only judge the content of what is written, and not the situation itself or the people involved like you seem to be doing ("that vilas is not just the poor victim" implies that you know more about this situation than purely moderating related, and is a judgment on the situation, and that is not what moderators are for). Moderators only enforce the forum rules, they don't judge team's internal matters, or apply the forum rules to them unless something is written down on the forum regarding these matters, and only what was written down, and not what you have heard/know about it besides the cold hard facts. If it's not written down by one or more parties involved on the forum that the rules belong to, it doesn't exist. Only the few posts by Vilas and the one by TB regarding this matter (and the rather chilling PM by TB) that were posted here were judged, and not the rumours, information gathered from people in chats or text posted on other forums, just as it should be. Good work moderating team QUOTE(pMASTER) For us here it's just his word against yours and vice versa.

Cheers for the replies guys, by no means I'm judging your moderation work here. As said I just wondered a bit about the reaction.

Hi I have a little problem/question.
my friend petrtlach(you know him no doubt) was supposedly banned for some time. I want to ask if this was an permanent ban ? I mean, he told me that he can't post anything on here. He was supposed to be unblocked on 9th April 11:00 AM no ? But still nothing. Somebody care to explain ? -------------------- Minsc will lead with blade and boot! I mean, he told me that he can't post anything on here. He was supposed to be unblocked on 9th April 11:00 AM no ? But still nothing. Considering the kind and amount of abuse he threw at team members, and "questioning" the integrity of the team, even saying that he might be unbanned after a while was a mistake. I mean, how many people here have shown their aggression by sending PMs entitled "SUCK MY DICK" in Czech to moderators or site team members? Not that many. And those that have no longer have access to the site and forums. Makes sense. Really. If he is unbanned, than so should people like Daniel von Rommel that did the same thing to pMASTER, and that wouldn't exactly be an improvement to the site.
