Hello everyone. Okay I have downloaded downloadable maps from this site and I deleted them due to lack of space on my hardrive. Now I try to download maps again and whenever I try to load them in the editor the screen says "Reciving", goes black and then a window pops up and says Arma 2 has stopped working. Checking for a solution for the problem and blah blah blah. For every single map. Even for mods, like that Vietnam one. If there is anything I can do please help. But I think I just F'd something up.

Well addom folders + arma2 launcher are the most obvious steps to me, the latest patch 1.04 . If none of these help maybe check bi forums for info, but I'm sure people down the line with much greater knowledge than mine will help you.

Oh and I downloaded the Arma 2 launcher and I wasnt quite so sure on how to use it. It just wouldnt "launch" the game. And I know its not just hitting start or whatever.

I'll explain it step by step.I use Linebackers auncher, but they are all similar.
Open the launcher
Somewhere you'll see a line C: Program files,...... and so on.
There will be a button with "change", or something like that. Press it;

Look in your hard drive for the "Bohemia Interactive" file, mine is in "Program Files",
open "ArmA 2"
Look for the ArmA icon, if you have installed the patches click on the link.

When you go back to the launcher , the address will have changed.
Try it. Should work.

For the addons, under "options" there is a button "Autoscan", that will find the addon folders if you've labelled them correctly.
example;

"@Celle" inside this folder you make another folder called "addons", this is where the pbo folder goes!
I hope this helps. I could do it again in German if that's easier.
Good luck.

I did exactly what you told me to do, everything worked. The @__. Everything, and it still says ArmA 2 has encountered a problem and so on. Now, before this I uninstalled ArmA 2 and reinstalled it, because I was having this problem. I downloaded Island Panthera, didnt want it, deleted it and tried to download Sands. Island Pathera worked but as soon as I deleted it and downloaded Sands, the added on maps stop working. It didnt do this before. I've had maps, deleted them, downloaded another and played that one. It just started happening.

I'm sorry if Im troubling or annoying people I just (as much as any other ArmA player) want to enjoy the freedom of downloads. Without trouble. ;p

This is the English section, for English language communication only.

This is your only warning. I realize this is harsh, but rules are rules. I realize we don't have a Portuguese section at the moment, however, if we let people use the English section for communicating in non-supported languages it wouldn't be long before everyone starts speaking in Morse Code... again...

While we appreciate your input, there's no need to post just agreeing with a moderator, it really only gives people justification to not use the moderator feedback thread. By all means, feel free to go there and say I'm doing a great job though ^^

It's not a common error, and a generic appcrash could be anything to be honest. I doubt anyone's going to be able to really help you unless they've got first hand experience with the problem. The only thing I can really suggest is to reinstall ArmA.2.

Yeah, I did that. It worked once than stopped. But I really truly thank you for the advice.
