You're not a democratically elected official yet. Neither am I, though I do not care to be democratically elected. All great leaders have gained power through strength of arms and conniving.

Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, Napoleon, Churchill, Hitl ... ok so maybe not him, but he did try.

There's a curious quirk on every official North Korean website. A piece of programming that must be included in each page's code.

Its function is straightforward but important. Whenever leader Kim Jong-un is mentioned, his name is automatically displayed ever so slightly bigger than the text around it. Not by much, but just enough to make it stand out.

And I thought dogs driving cars was weird...
Elliot Carver
Thats a feature we could do with on here eh D@V£
D@V£
Don't be foolish. As a far greater leader than ol' Babyface Mcgee, my name should be far bigger. "Marginally larger" or "moderately larger" will do. Probabably the latter, given that I moderate, so that's kinda like one of those pun things. I am one of you. I understand your "humour".

Oh thats easy - Just set your key board to American english wink.gif

Well that was an interesting evening. Ive just been in trouble with the fuzz for the first time ever! Someone in our shared house whos been a tit and not paid their rent needed to move out. So i spent all afternoon helping them work out where they can go for help and what applications then need to do to get temporary accommodation. We got a decent solution for them to follow in the morning and we left it at that. 40mins later and i get a knock on my door that wakes me up from 3 metropolitan police officers who had been called to an anti-social disturbance at the address. Spend the next 30 mins getting grilled about my intentions with this person and explain what ive spent all afternoon putting together and they realise the tit lied to them. Then as they left she became hysterical and assaulted one of them and is now spending a night with the Mets finest.

no good deed eh ... weirdsmiley.gif

Financially troubled ... mentally unstable ... prone to physical roughness ... I find this information very useful for picking my next one night stand naughty.gif

haha be my guest. Might want to castrate yourself after use tho.

"hello sir its the police, what are you up to this evening?" "oh i was just cleaning my M4 reading the Anarchy Cook book" "i was asleep"
D@V£
My experience with the police is that when someone's being a drama llama and "dialling 911" (not a typo - they've actually made it so when you dial 911 over here, it's like if you dialled 999, turns out a lot of people pay more attention to Hollywood than what they're taught in school) they're all over it in an instant, but when you need, you know, actual police work done, all you can find are these "community support officers".

The studio is also working on a standalone version of DayZ, which is developed by a team led by Dean Hall.

So whats going on here? DayZ started as a community mod right? It became very popular so my understanding was BIS gave the mod permission to go standalone using features of the A2/3 game engine like Iron Front? But now A3 is postponed and BIS is developing DayZ?? BIS has sunk to working for a community mod thats more successful than their own game? Has it really come to this? A decade of realistic warfare simulation development is going to become a zombie FPS? mellow.gif

edit: after reading the wiki the answer is pretty much yes.

... so erm chaps ohmy.gif is this the end of the story for ofp and arma?

You should consider a career in tabloid journalism. Incorrect facts, rhetoric questions that go the wrong way, a complete failure to mention a key issue that changes everything... it'd be a perfect fit wink.gif
Elliot Carver
The day this place is independently regulated really would be its death happy.gif in my defense i haven't been following the story (so it'll be the dailymail then?) im thinking more long term ... after A3 next year if / when DayZ gets huge?
D@V£
To be honest, if BIS are still sticking behind take on helicopters, I wouldn't worry about them giving up on ArmA wink.gif

Some member of the Religion of Peace ™ tried to cause a bloodbath in our former capital Bonn. An explosive device that consisted of ammonium nitrate and gas cylinders was placed in a busy train station and only failed to kill scores because the detonator stopped working. Police are looking for a bunch of East Africans who call themselves "the German order of the Al Shabaab".

or wire a decent circuit by the sounds of things. Makes me laugh every time one of these is foiled ... some vicar in his robes trying to solder electrics whilst reading how to do it on terrorist.wiki

What gets me is religion is the only subject that has gone down this path of terrorist attacks. You don't see Unicef leaving bags of C4 on packed trains to get its message across. The way some of the militant unions operate over here in the uk im surprised there isnt more ...

Are socialism and pacifism also considered religions then? unsure.gif

I mean, they have all of the trademarks. A flawed ideology, zealousness, blind obedience, incapacity for logical thinking, no sense of humour, proneness to violence to promote peace etc
pMASTER
'Not nearly all Muslims are terrorists, but almost all terrorists are Muslims.' wink.gif
It's not only about this religion itself but also its cultural roots which were enormously bellicose, in fact way more bellicose than those of the other Abrahamian religions which just turned to violence every here and there along their way and due to the instrumentalization by secular powers. But of course its true that other religions and political groups have spawned terrorists and violent retards in numbers, too (obviously this leaves 'state terrorism' á la Stalin and Hitler out of the equation). I think the matter with religions is that they consider themselves to hold ultimate truths, a truth that could only be countered with an equally high-ranking truth if you get my drift: if you compared that to the old struggle between the both wings of the political spectrum (left vs. right) you'd just observe how supporters of one side countered the ideas of another with their own concepts - and to no end. Naturally each side regards its own ideas as better and more profound, but where does that leave us against religious extremists when we're not extremists themselves. The sad answer is that against Islamism only radical religiousness could really make a difference. People who see themselves as holy warriors and who in their mentality could live a thousand years ago and carry a scimitar into battle, when they ruthlessly place bombs to kill women and children, won't be impressed by the principle of due process and pseudo-sociological sympathy for the poor and deprived of their rights.

Now for a more mundane matter, have all of you bought their christmas presents yet? smile.gif

My point stands, it's barely more than 10 years ago that you'd be saying "almost every terrorist is Irish", and a few years before that, "almost every terrorist is German", and a few years before that "almost every terrorist is German"... and... erm.... then you just keep saying that, because it turns out you guys have been pretty good at the whole terror thing since before long before Germany even existed. There's a reason we named Germs after you tongue.gif

Generally, I tend not to put my faith in cultures that hadn't even developed the wheel.

And the kicker is, the calender that started all this nonsense is actually round! You'd think at some point, someone would have dropped one, seen it roll down the stairs of those pyramids they built and think "hey, that looks fun!".
