Thanks for the tip Str. Hope you make a sequel/prequel to the WTWE for ArmA, I already told you how much I liked the original mission over PM.
I made a quick comparison of the two castles.

Yeah, it's USMC hat, although, if they are Marines, BIS decided to continue with immersion breakers and decided to slap ACU on them and a big black EGA. If they are Army, they shouldn't have been wearing that hat in the first place...
Are they actually meant to be a real US Military element or just a semi-fictional one? (BLUFOR = Blue Force?)

As far as I know, they were supposed to be army. If the things I read trough stringtables, during the campaign, you should be a part of Stryker Brigade and USMC forces come as reinforcements later on. Not sure if they changed it in the final version. If it stayed like that then it's a major bummer, but hey, at least we've got a good game to play/develop.

Nice pics Crankep
I'm in love with those new deaths (legs like the one on the 2nd pic)
But uh, in lots of videos, I've seen them just stopping dead while running and playing their death animation like there is none for falling over while running (like there was in ofp)
Crankep
Nov 25 2006, 12:12
I checked that out, and sure enough. They stop very quickly and change to the death animation. Doesn't look too bad.. but still.

I'm not too keep on the "arms-up-in-the-air-drama-death" one either
Btw, can harriers actually take off vertically? Haven't heard

Well, there are no control commands, tried ingame. Don't think it can. Almost sure it can't.

And that really makes me wonder why they decided on the AV-8...?
I would have thought they would have used it as like a 'tech-showoff' thing, eg: the ability to change flightmodes in game like heli-mode to plane etc, and therefore showing the mod community that aircraft like the C22 Osprey and VTOL aircraft like harriers are possible... but apparently not..
*getting a bit OT, sry*

Nov 25 2006, 16:13
You're right. Why AV-8 then? A-10 would have been a better decision. It does carry more weapons, more armor and got better ground attack capabilities!

All well and good, but why wasn't it included in the Czech/German release? Just proves even further that the Cz version was a test, so that reported bugs can be addressed, and BIS can get it nice for the other players.
Also proves that the game was horribly rushed

The flip side of the coin is that you get exactly the same vehicles as in OFP. I'm glad they chose the Harrier, because there wasn't a really good one out for OFP yet. And if it's true that there will be a patch for VTOL capabilities, it will be even better

No, it isn't, but in Czech Republic it is
And the magazine is just plain metal, so you can't see the bullets inside it.
