I agree, the game is just awesome. I can't wait till the first Maps come out where people can use the Artillery-System manually and awesome fights in citys. But first we need better performance. It's the only thing that gets on my nerves.

How long have the fans wanted FLIR, hell we even had to wait till now to get realistic tracers and this game states it's a military simulation.

I just found video, UAV with some sort on FLIR

Check about 2:30 Anyways to me, looks like FLIR is integrated, maybe later we can get it for vehicles ect

I'm pissed off. I changed my mind today, ran to the store and bought the game. Can't play it though as ArmAII comes up with an error message ("No entry blablabla") every time I wanna enter the game world. So I thought let's get the patch to fix it. "Patch" my ass!

Now the game doesn't start anymore.

Yes, I don't use the language patch and yes, I know how to run a frigging patch. It was the Securom copy protection messing with my DVD drive. Had the problem with SWAT 4 before.

Problem solved in meanwhile. Right now I'm playing around with the editor. The wild boars made me giggle at least.

Wake me up if the next Patches will be released! rofl.gif

The Performance of this game is making me sick! (High-Spec Maschine, everthing on high and only max. 35 frames in some areas 15!!!) thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

I just saw some new ingame trailers and screenshots of OFP2. thumbsup.gif

I hope the performance will be better than on ArmA2,the graphics of OFP2 are also acceptable. Now i switch to OFP2 Community ''for a while'' to gather some information about the upcoming game.

g]http://www.operationflashpoint2.info/images/photoalbum/album_32/firstperson.jpg[/img]

ArmA1 was playable after 6 months after the release date! And that's a scandal, because German players became a Beta testers again! weapons_owned.gif

Razor Team...Over and out...

Lol, if that's the only problem you've encountered... rolleyes.gif 35 frames isn't half bad and not even OFP was playable with high settings on the best computers of that time.

In some areas of the island only 15 frames such as in the citys.

Sorry for the image.

@Vilas

Just on a previous note...

Look vilas you have done some realy nice work especially the weapons packs etc.

What I don't understand is all your whining about the game and all that realism you so much expect. I feel that Arma2 is about as real as is possible with the available technology. AI unfortunatly in this game or any other game is still stupid but we cant blame developers for it. I mean we all look for different things in the game and we all have our opinions (opinions are like arse holes, we all have one). If you are looking for "real" realism I think you should join the army and go fight a real war, then if you make it, come and tell us about the campaign. Otherwise just mod and add what you feel they left out. Just please don't whine, we all know there are bugs etc. yet its still a very good game with masive improvements over ArmA.

You spend 1000's of hours modding a game you don't like !!!!!!!!!!!????????

then you speak about how bad ArmA2 AI is??????

man.................... tell you what...... "not half as bad as your logic"

Yes, let' wait for a year and a half before the currently unplayable sequel will be fully patched & the tools will be relizd (but probably not before the Chernarus Gambit expansion, lol). Fortunately, there's a prefectly stable & almost bugfree ArmA-1 with lots of mods & addons and there will be OFP2, BF Bad Company 2 for PC & Modern Warfare 2. Something tells me that the majority of players will want to play those games.

http://videogamereign.com/pc-gaming/armed-assault-2-review
"ArmA II is a testament to the kind of experience that is offered up when a game developer caters to a niche market and tries to give them what they want. Like its predecessor, ArmA has tremendous potential for those who enjoy open-ended military simulators. Unfortunately, its ambitions were more than the developers could fulfill with the time and resources allocated to them, and so, like the first ArmA, it will probably take months or years (!!!) of comprehensive patches to get the game where it should have been at release."
Amen.

I just got my copy of ArmA II today. I had my thoughts about it, but I've got to say that it's better what I expected.

Urban conditions feel more urban now, and fighting there is better unlike in BIS's previous games... In the previous games you'd just run through the whole city in a minute and clear it, but here you've got to be very careful and move yard by yard.
Previosly, the buildings felt like indefinite static blocks, but now they feel more "homey". smile.gif

Got the game today, really enjoying it so far. Citys brings the FPS right down for me but the countryside i get 45-50. About to start the campaign, hope its up to standards. ( Track IR is MUCH better than ArmA )

well it has some bad points.....like the high demand for performance and of course the cheek to expect the community to finish what it started for free and then more people buy it and they get more money...

but its a good game. a little pissed about the c130 cargo door animation, or lack of it.....

At least it was only £24.99!

How much did everyone else pay?

Picked up the full game this morning. Been playing most of the day

I like:
-The modules feature (Probably my favourite part)
-Choice of vehicles/units (Osprey & T34 FTW!)
-New flight controls (Slightly marred by the vehicle steering as a whole)
-New landscape (definitely better than Sahrani or Nogova)
-The AI. Actually does more than run around aimlessly and shoot at you. Discussing enemy troop movements is especially cool!
-Missions and Campaign (they're on par with the missions in OFP, not hideously generic like the ones in ArmA1, from what I've played of the campaign so far it's got much better scripting than either of them)
-Combat Chatter (the radio voices sound a bit mechanical at times, but they're a lot more versatile than ArmA1's)
-Rabbits. Just because.

I don't like:
-Vehicle steering (Mouse feels too sluggish and keyboard seems too sensitive). Almost less offended when store employee tried to sell me console style controller. Hopefully this will be patched. Until then someone else can drive. Doesn't mean I'm not going to sustain from berating them when they crash.
-Tank turrets (turrets rotate along with the vehicle... while this is more realistic, it's sort of annoying when you're trying to line up a target and the AI decides it's a great time to try and run over a nearby bunny rabbit) EDIT: This seems restricted to the T34... which probably makes it worse because the T34 is awesome! ohnoo.gif
-The new command system. It doesn't make any sense! ohnoo.gif
-Missing dialogue. Occasionally soldier and civilians will "talk" without making noises.

lol

re-install Operation flashpoint set everything to max and see ., even on my dual core 3.G P4 with ATI 4870 and 4G of RAM your down to 5FPS and even less if you stick to much on

its simply bad game coding, nothing to do with the PC

Back to ARMA 2 , I think awesome game, i run it fine on high settings, I think the transport system on one of the campaigns where you can call a heli to take you places is excellent, the artillery system etc etc , the scriping is great, the map awesome.

Cant say I would of missed out the Blackhawk though, one of the most used civil and military choppers world wide, but meh neither here nor there really.

Awesome game, but just ticks the clock down for OpFlash 2 really, HOWEVER I do hope OpFlash2 takes notes of what ARMA 2 has done right!
